Whats your gut instinct on this ?

I am tempted to buy a phone of a guy in the for sale but he is unwilling to post first, I too am fairly new and have been asked to post my items first, which i have done without problem.

Hoping a more established member could give their opinion on this trade as something dont feel right to me.

Thanks

I wouldn't, plus you have the worry of 3 months down the line they might claim on insurance and block the phone.
For high value items like this I would just not risk it...but then again I'm not a very trusting person which can be to my detriment on occasions.

No, no feedback and no ebay history. I would stay away x

They also mention putting a claim through paypal if it doesn't turn up, that in itself I find a peculiar thing for someone to write.
Just go with what your gut instinct tells you, which I am guessing says no as you started this thread.
Plenty more phones available, just make sure you are safe and comfortable with the sale when you get one.

I guess nobody has heard of an escrow service, safe for both the buyer and seller ;)

fully approved by ebay see the bottom of this page http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/pay/escrow.html

costs 2 - 3% of the sales value, fees can be paid by either the buyer or seller

If a new seller isnt willing to accept it its a sure thing they are trying to scam you :-)

Why hotukdeals dont advise traders to use such a service is quite frankly a joke. not a week goes by when somebody doesnt gets scammed on here

Edited By: aScottishBloke on Sep 12, 2010 11:28: Removed reference to europa site.

Depends on your definition of scamming. Having had a look at the information and I don't see this being the answer to your view of the problem(s) - which aren't as high as you claim.

I'd run away too. It's very simple anyway - if you're not happy, you don't trade.

PS ASB: The fact you haven't removed the clear advertising from that idiot above is a joke too :P

Escow services are as bad as trading with strangers frankly.

Because under no obligations HUKD have to do this, they have their own rules set out clearly, if you don't follow, you will be the one suffering. And if you think it is a joke, just simply don't use HUKD.

And to OP asking this question, if the seller doesn't want to sell the phone as posting first, just leave it rotten in that thread. Rather than forcing him/her to post first and even worst is the existence of this thread, kind of insulting to the seller really.
