My Son wants a Iphone but there is no chance I'm getting him one because of the price...
I've seen this tho.. http://www.vkamobi.com/products/Phone-i836.html#

Are they any good?
Can you still download apps for it?
What sim will it be able to take?

Thanks

nope.

its basically a cheap clone but u cant use any other apps etc other than the ones preinstalled

also...its unrepairable if something goes wrong so id advise against buying one

I'm no expert but don't buy him one of those...He'd get laughed out of school cause the kids they know everything about these gadgets (It's like the kid that use to go to school with NICK trainers on that looked a bit like NIKES...I'll bet you remember thanking god that you weren't that kid!). Besides, these knock offs never do what they say they'll do anyway and you just get a basic hone which happens to look a bit like an iphone...

Nope, tried one, they're rubbish.

Either: Get the real thing, like a 3G / 3GS, or just buy a different touch screen phone for him.

Avoid this one.

Sorry to break it to you but you'd be lucky if you could make calls out of it...

I'd say maybe throw out a question (maybe on here) on which is the best phone for how much you are willing to spend and roughly what it will be used for...The knowledgable people on here love to help!

OMG, please don't do it - it will cost you more than an iphone in counselling sessions for your son to get over the trauma :w00t:

walk away your son wont be impressed and his mates will rib him

If you're struggling, maybe you can look at a LG pop at around £70, maybe a Nokia 5230 for around £85 or if you are willing to stretch your budget a bit a blackberry (at £100 +). Just a few suggestions thats all but don't buy that knock off, you'll be sure to regret it..

I'd recommend an android phone, if the HTC Desire is too steep then The Hero would be a great choice, even if the 2.1 firmware is taking an age to be released.

The Tattoo is a great little HTC Android phone, but is stuck on version 1.6, or get the new HTC Wildfire - Looks like the Desires not so distant (and cheaper) relative, which has Android 2.1.

iPhones are for showing off to your mates (hence why there are so many cheap knock offs), People don't know much about Android but when they see the HTC Sense creamy goodness they want it.

Oh, also if you fancy a laugh then check out the KIRF (Keeping It Real Fake) tag on Engadget.

They're kids...Doesn't their lives revolve mainly around showing off to their mates?!! To them the iphone is the holy grail!

Only because they watch adverts, are very impressionable, and give in to hype like... well.. school kids. :whistling:

Oh and the point you made earlier about NICK trainers, there was a kid at my school who used to have TOTEL 90 shoes, noone liked him, and he ended up getting someone to run over his feet for people to fane interest of him.

it does not bode well at well when even the website displays this...

Qty.Range(unit) Wholesale Price(per unit)
1-2 $136.00
3-5 Pls login to see
6-10 Pls login to see
10+ Pls login to see

"Pls" I'm sorry, but no matter how good or amazing the product is, even if its the genuine product, i wouldn't buy from a website that's supposed to be buying from reputable professional firms using abbreviations as childish as Pls
