Oh well, looks like I missed out. At least I won't have to put all the clocks back in October tho!

What? The USA do this with their clocks too? And I thought it was just us mad English people....

Nope, the Merkins do it too, but they do it a week ahead of us - presumably for a laugh.

Why not just globally adjust the times of the clocks by half an hour in one direction and leave it at that?

Probably because local conditions dictate different time adjustments, even in the UK, places like Aberdeen has a vastly different sunrise/sunset to say London even though it is also on GMT. In the winter, where I live it's pitch black at 3PM at worst meaning you end up travelling to work and leaving in the dark.

Just leave them alone I say. Leave them on Summertime, why set them back in october, making it darker, the roads more dangerous and everyone more depressed? What's the point ????

Not any more. They now change their clocks on the second Sunday in March and the First Sunday in November (except for Hawaii and Arizona, who don't change their clocks)

Thanks, I'll make a note of that in my diary... well, I haven't got one of those so I'll just have to memorise it... and considering i've got the memory of a goldfish at the moment I may end up asking you all again soon!!!
