Sports Days were a fortnight ago. Couldn't go though as I was stuck in meetings through both of them :x

Youngest isn't at the proper school nursery yet (starts in September), but will have to wear school uniform then like his brother....costs me and absolute bleedin fortune.

Mine finish tomorrow, and that's only because we don't get as many in service days as other schools in the area (or strikes!)

It's a nightmare, they both have to have Clarks shoes too cos of the width of their feet, so it's £25-£30 each time.

My OH bought the little 'un a pair of shoes the other day, and he'd ripped the front of them within an hour :w00t:

I was under the believe that by law the school had to be open a certain amount of days per year, does that mean kids have to make up the days lost by the strike?
#17
Both my childrens schools kept the schools opens so no schooling was missed. They both break up tomorrow.

its hard enough bringing up kids though-how many people struggled for childcare last minute? and the stupid holidays so everyone struggles to get free child places etc to get kids away from the rain here:whistling:
Took my son out week before half term in may and went ne week of hols and week before..saved £2000:w00t:

I'm the same, well colour anyway, luckily my son is only a size 4 and they had a nice pair of black adidas on sale at La Redoute.

I even have to buy a uniform for PE, one of they ones with the school logo embroidered so you can't shop around. Hate them!!!

Both finish next Tuesday at 3.15 - last time for the big one, going to seniors in September. Got both the kids places for summer school (only one week). Youngest is going with the Learning Mentors (£5 for the week, which is returned if he attends all days). Big one is going to his new school for a bonding week, £2 a day but he does go to Dudley Zoo on a trip which is included in the price!:-D
#29
i didnt get logo pe kit as i disagree with it-and i bought just the blazer from school (it had the badge on which you cant buy seperately-how bad is that?)
Was told pe teachers dont care if no logo..and never had a problem!
When i got the new blazer i didnt get from school-no logo-lots of mums take the badge off and put on a plain budget one..

 yup! my lttle guy wont wear a sweatshirt so the white polo is a joke! like you said never short of things to clean the car:thumbsup:
the primary isnt so bad though! the high school stupid logo is mad..the reason for school uniform is to make kids 'equal' but the kids who have get fashion uniform and the have-nots dont. Then the parents of the have-nots are strangled with the cost of silly logos-you cant win! my daughter got sent home with a complaint cos her skirt had a pleat in it (had had same skirt design the year before along with others) anyway they even took time to call me-told me to buy from school suppliers-who didnt have stock anyway! a week later the ban was scrapped after mums had gone out and spent more money on umiform!

I agree, it's total madness but because this is my sons first year I don't want him to stand out. Saying that, I was meant to have the order form in before school broke up and I didn't get it done. Got his normal uniform stuff though. His school don't have the blazers yet but will come December, when they will have to wear them, in the freezing cold. Do these school boards actually think before they take action??

Nope im sure not!

daughter has to wear a blazer all year and if she has a coat hasnt anywhere to store it so manages without:roll:
i only bought the blazer as i did ask the pe teachers(I had an older girl there already) and they said dont bother. I find a lot of the time the uniform with logos is less popular anyway with the kids, and lets face it who can see logo shorts under a t?
im on child 5 and have lost patience(can you tell? lol) I dont want my kids to be out of place but i like them to be able to speak up. My daughter agrees with me so im lucky-she isnt short of friends nor has she had problems for not having the logos!
Just wait and see in september and im sure there will be other kids the same. I realise it varies from area to area so if in doubt ask another parent if you can?
