Interesting thread (when you wake up at 8am on a saturday for no reason).

I read from start to finish, and although its wrong to form any judgement, I did so anyway.

The Killswitch dude was pushy from the start and wound be up with the constant remarks about being a highly respected senior member. What kind of **** would do that ;););)

But seriously, alarm bells were ringing for some reason despite the feedback etc. Also why would you agree all this, and change your mind once it arrived? Then not even offer to pay for the original postage?

Finally on the Killswitch side of things, he confirms to someone on page 2/3 that the unit is sealed, then says he used it 3 times? Hmm.

The 2nd seller also confirms the package was just retaped, which is stupid perhaps, but understandable.

So in summary: seller and buyer 2 are naive in the extreme, but personally I wouldn't touch Killswitch with a bargepole.

Booked marked that thread. Its worth joining to read the thread.

I'm looking forward to the movie.

Like midway through the post, it totally put another forum peep off using classifieds before even the worst had happened. I have a HTC Hero to sell in a couple of weeks and was gonna use a forum (here probably) but I think I've changed my mind.

Unless you have some kind of feedback elsewhere I would refrain.

Someones obviously lying. Killswitch73 talks like a filfthy chav, I would probably not of sent it in the first place to him, though the mods might of asked for confirmation pictures from the receiving parties once it became a problem thread.

Wow, to be honest I think It's a postie, killswitch seems like a bit of a tool, but seems smart enough to know there'd be no point in returning rocks and selling the phone.

It would also rely on killswitch presuming the seller wouldn't bother checking the box, which most people would do, and the seller would have done if another seller hadn't come along, a fact killswitch didn't know

Cliffs?

- New member sells iPhone to existing member but sends 1st
- Member receives phone but then decides its dodgy do sends back "unused"
- another member buys phone, sends deposit
- member receives bricks in package
- new member says they never checked the returned item and blames original buyer
- original buyer admits using phone

I hope he does.... so I can follow him around the forum stalker-style and let everyone make their own judgement on the thread.

I've made no accusations, I've just said I wouldn't touch him with a bargepole :D

lol that pretty much nails it but i would of included some quotes like

1.Killswitch 73,post 27 "i have not had chance to open phone yet and i will not be opening it up .."

2.Killswitch 73,post 92 "i can comfirm however that i sent the iphone back to crazy88 and i did infact use the phone a coiuple of times but then decided not to keep it as that was when i was in the o2 shop and asked that guy questions on it being blocked and stuff.."
think the killer point will be if killswitches postage receipt shows the weight difference of nearly 200grams.

Hey, I had a look at that thread. A hell of a mess don't you think.

Original buyer backed out after receipt of goods but prior to payment. That left the seller in a sticky situation as they would have found it hard to reject the return.

Seller then a bit silly to resell the item without checking (or playing dumb).

New buyer claims to have received rocks.

Postie blamed again.

Original buyer then requests HUKD thread removed.

I don't see any issues here at the moment to warrant a removal, however perhaps the member can post an update here if they wish to clear the air, specifically with regards to the contradictory statements highlighted earlier.

Still the thread serves as a good read and highlights the fact that trading rules here should always be followed in full.

Killswitch.

What a ****. Pulled every excuse at the end, migraine, could barely see the screen, although typed a long drawn out message. Odd guy.

Been watching this for a while...absolute car crash!

I know we all like to save a buck here and there but for something of that value, I'd want to collect and pay the cash there and then.

Be interesting to see how it pans out...

Comedy! I'd love to know the reason. Internet pseudonym 1 calls internet pseudonym 2 from another site a bad guy?

Anyway, interesting to hear your views on it compared to the rules etc here.

I got no probs with AVForums, and their mods if anything seem to be slightly more actively involved than here (no hate). Any chance of posting the original buyer's username here so I can blacklist him :D

BRB telling people to trust me 'cus I got 2k posts yeh?

Original buyer then requests HUKD thread removed.
Well that's interesting. Presumably the comments made about his contradictory statements were also posted over at AV, but they have been removed as they were not posted by any of the interested parties. Clearly the only people who know the truth are the three involved, but it cannot be denied that killswitch has certainly made some shaky comments in that thread. Suspicion seems to naturally fall upon him.

Statements all still visible at post #27 and #92 as maddogb highlighted earlier.

Original 'buyer' invited to make a statement here if they so wish, however nothing yet other than a request to pull. However the thread is in the public domain and it's not for us to prohibit discussion.

Just an observation, as a buyer (thinking of the last purchaser) - if you're expecting a £500+ item to be delivered, who butchers the box open in the way ?

I meant statements from other members pointing out the contradictions, rather than the statements from killswitch himself. As in, I expect that they had been pointed out by members over at AV, but were removed due to the moderation policy.

Very true, the box was opened oddly
#27
I think it odd that the original seller would not check to see if the Iphone had actually been returned? The image the second buyer posted with the rocks in it looks like it would rattle like anything so I would assume anyone who handled it could tell something was off.

All very strange.

It's just a mess all the way through. Given that thread, who as a new member would be willing to post 1st just in order to try and get some feedback here ?

As always, we recommend following the trading advice in full, but we've seen a few horrors here in the past.

Can't really argue with the AV forum view.

Killswitch is clearly, and beyond argument, a proven liar.

Thats not to say hes a thief, but regardless, he did lie.

The death threats... meh... unfortunately they are unforgivable really, thoughif he's innocent, I feel for him a little.

"The quiet one" buyer 2 is either sensibly keeping a low profile, or sensibly being sensible (!) and seeing what the police can find.

Agreed. It takes a leap of faith at the best of times to post something before payment, but it just goes to show how much this system depends on trust regardless of how the transaction is done.

Yeah I mean each to their own, but I will NEVER buy anything for £500 from a seller on here or AVF. Nor ebay. Nor pretty much anywhere on the internet outside of amazon/play or highstreet retailer.

I'd rather pay £100 more from john lewis than take that kind of risk.

All 3 are guilty of naivety, but they probably don't deny that.
#32
The seller was a moron for being so threatening but doesn't giving him a ban mid way through a dispute cause issues for everyone involved in getting the thing sorted out?

Granted if the police have been called in it is now in their hands but I doubt if they will do much and it's a little inconvenient for all of us nosy people who want to see how it ends. :)

Yeah I'd have just slapped trading bans on all 3 of them until the police come to some sort of conclusion and then act upon the threatening messages.

God knows who to believe though.
#34
avforums still is the best!
#35
There's currently 3 mobile phone related threads in the disputed trades section of avforums. Clearly not Worth buying expensive phones of forums.
#36
A lesson to be learnt there.

Possibly even worse then the infamous Ryouga TV debacle that took place on here and AV

Just another theroy that nobody seems to have explored.

I reckon that killswitch kept the phone, but has since sold it on, thus stuffing another inocent buyer in the process.

The reason i say this is that killswitch is'nt as stupid as he makes out. What would be the point of keeping the phone knowing that A. The phone would be blocked and B. why would you keep said bricked phone only to risk incriminating yourself.

I may well be well off the mark, but i reckon somewhere there is another buyer left scratching his head.
#39
Killswitch looks very dodgy to me, why agree ti buy it then suddenly change your mind, and also lie about opening it
#40
I Think that IF it is killswitch who has done the fast one, then yeah he's sold it already, before the phone got barred. But seriously i don't think it will be easy at all to prove who it is. What if they are no finger prints of the criminal on any of the inside contents of the box.
