hi just like to know how long you think is an acceptable amount of time to wait for someone to pay you when you have sold things on ebay.
i personally when buying pay straight away or message them and let them know when i will make a payment.

7 - 9 days at most, if the buyer really wanted it they would pay straight away, that's what you would do if you were buying online from a retailer.

If you haven't received payment in the 7 days I would send a payment reminder email and then after 2 days file an unpaid dispute.

I always pay straight away, I expect payment to be made within 3 days unless someone lets me know otherwise.

its just doing my head in i have sold 59 items last week and i am still waiting for payments. some of them i have emailed as i wanted to get them in the post with the others but people just cant be bothered to message you back.and then you get others that say they will pay such a day and then dont. what really gets on my nerves is people who wait till the last minute of the auction go out of there way to out bid someone and then dont bother paying for days.

I file a NPB after 4 days that usually wakes them up.

I thought you can't raise any NPB disputes until 7 days have lapsed

Amazes me how they can bid and win the auction yet not pay when the option is there straight away. I had it all the time including the fake bids, so all I do now is have strict buyer requirements set in my site preferences and use mostly BIN. I now, touch wood, have smooth sales without the tits.

Have you considered using www.fo.lk instead of ebay? ITS FREE!

I just made a balls up of a sale on ebay whereby I left a load of feedback for buyers, but inadvertantly left positive feedback for one who hadn't paid yet. (as I was copying and pasting!)

They haven't paid and the item was bought on the 2nd March. Can I open a dispute or will the fact that I left feedback go against me?

I think if people can be arsed to put a bid in at the last minute, they can pay immediately..

Some take up to a week to pay.
And I've heard all the excuses, I'll be going to the bank tomorrow, and all the other BS.

use the immediate payment required option

dataload
use the immediate payment required option

you can only do that on buy it now. not on the auctions.
#16
just tell them to f off and give the other people a second chance offer or whatever it is
#17
i think its wrong that they have taken the negative feedback option off for sellers to leave buyers it gives them the power to mess you around and some even try threats that something wasnt as described so they want part refund or they will leave neg feedback.

Write on your auctions you expect payment within x amount of days and then file a NPB if you don't hear from them, some people are timewasters i wouldn't even bother contacting them, just wait the required amount of time and file the NPB.

You can still open a dispute:thumbsup:

If you are e-mailing asking for payment before 7 days, they probably get peed off and purposely don't pay.

usually around 5 days. Depends on the value of the item really.

i would send a polite message after about 5 days and take it further if they didnt reply or pay after a week. Luckily never had to though.
