When will the UK change to Euro Dollars?

When do you think that the British Government or will it be the queen finally decide to change our currency to Euro Dollars? My uncle seems to think in the next 5 -10 years that we will change due to pressure from the EU. Some people say never the British Pound is too strong. I think it'll happen eventually. What do you think? If it doesnt change to euro something needs to be done about the £50 note its a bit ridiculous theyre not really used much.

...yes, you know, the American pound :?
#4
never i hope.
#5
Whoever proposes it will lose a general election. Never.
#6
Hopefully never. The sterling is probably the greatest currency in the world. Change to the Euro and we loose another piece of heritage.
#7
Too strong? Have you seen its value against the Euro recently?!

Not sure what the £50 note has to do with anything? :?
#9
its a virtual certainty that we'll all be using euros within the next 10 years.

Doesn't matter one jot that the majority of the country don't want it. the iraq war, the referundum on the eu "constitution" etc just shows that whoevers in power will not listen to the people.

even if the tories do win the next election we'll have handed over so many powers they'll be reduced to the equivalent of jumped up town councillors with brussels in total contol and therefore we'll be forced to use the euro.

True, but is a part of our currency not being used, when was the last time you went to a shop and got a £50 note in change, theyre not used in atms either, they are pointless, is the point i was trying to put across

How would that work out? When was the last time you had a £50 in your wallet? £20 notes are mainly only used anyway. The only place you can £50 notes are in a bank!

I don't think you get it.

Couldnt give a monkeys whether we keep Sterling or adopt the Euro, would make my life easier to have euros here.
As for 50s, I use £50 notes regularly nearly all my customers for my little sideline pay in 50s its just standard in this line of work, when I go on buying trips I usually have 3K in cash on me, and I wouldn't have enough wallet space for 20s. And there is something quite reassuring about a roll of 50s that could choke a donkey, much more satisfying than seeing figures on a screen.

:?

If you go into a shop and buy something for £25 and pay with a £50, you'll most probably be given 1x £20 and 1x £5 back.

If there are no £50 notes, the most you'd pay with is 2x £20s, so you'd never get a £20 in you change

simple really :-D

Last had a £50 in my wallet about 4 hours ago.....

Is that meant to mean something?
#26
We won't get the euro.

If we get the euro we lose the strongest currency in the world.

If we lose the pound we'll all just vote UKIP in and we'll leave europe. As America says "We will not be forced into something we don't want to do"
