Where has my country gone?

I live in England, although I am originally from Northern Ireland.

However, when filling in forms on the internet, I never seem(ed) to have the option to enter either. Apparently the United Kingdom is now a country, just like France and Germany.

I didn't realise this and was disappointed as I enjoyed living in England.

Does anybody else find this irritating? And do you consider yourself British, Scottish, Irish, Northern Irish, English or Welsh?

The affair :) we wanted to include all nations :)

yes, but doesn't it annoy you that we all have to put United Kingdom in every bleeding form even though we are anything but United?

Couldn't care less. I'm Scottish, but don't give a monkeys what is required for filling in forms. I have way more important things to worry about, than declaring my national pride whilst filling in my insurance paperwork or whatever.

Based on the NATO list of countries we are the United Kingdom we are not seen as being seperate countries.

Most things we do today are as the United Kingdom, look at the olympics; we compete together.

We are referred to as Great Britain in the olympics which must upset our Northern Ireland friends as they are not part of Britain!

Great Britain = England, Wales and Scotland

UK = England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland
