I'm trying to repair a broken 360 we have lying around in the house. The DVD drive is buggered and I'm looking to buy a new one. It is the toshiba TS-H943 drive. I have looked on ebay but they all seem to be from hong kong (will these ones even work?). Just looking to get new drive but don't want to spend £40+ for one.

Also say I do repair it, how much do you reckon I could get for it? specs;

Xbox 360 premium with 20GB hard drive
AV cable (no HD lead)
Power cable
Wireless controller with battery pack (not rechargeable)
Original box

Its a 2006 xbox, so the older model and has the larger power pack. Is it worth repairing?

I guess you will get around £50 for it, as it is out of wanttee and no HDMI.
has the console ever been sent away to MS for repairs?

I wouldnt of thought you will make much money on it if you do repair it.
I'll pop on Ebay and see how much this kinda setup is selling for

No never bothered as it was out of warranty

Unfortunately as these are the older drives and can be flashed they are really hard to get hold of and go for a premium price. :-(

I think it might be worth buying a faulty xbox on ebay and use the dvd drive from that..
this will cost you around £30.. if it works you maybe be able to get £50-£60 for it.

All the drives can now be flashed so the older 1s aren't as valuable anymore.

You should put a wanted thread in the for sale forum you might get lucky

Hmmm i might try giving the lense a clean then and see what happens first. If i sold it as spares how much would I be looking for?
