Not really. We flew from Exeter with Thomson for £245 (including baggage and transfers etc) and our hotel was about £70 each for a really nice hotel.

Only issue with European cities is the poor Euro conversion. Anyway, Gran Canaria is LOVELY and dont just confine yourself to the tourist region in the south (Puerto Rico, Maspalomas, Playa D'Ingles etc)...I can highly recommend a little village called Vecindario.

If you havent been, you will love it!!

Any more info just let me know. I have been loads of times.

We go away for a well earned end of year break. We have a massive holiday earlier on in the year. GC is amazing.

Not expensive. You could get 3 courses for about £7. Local beers (which are actually REALLY nice) are usually £1.50...all spirits are about £4 for 2...

Nice waterparks, amazing beaches with clear water etc.

If you are Googling, "Mogan" is beautiful. There is an amazing walk you can go on to see lizards and nice butterflies etc on the way to Mogan from Puerto Rico.
