You need to have a set budget everytime you shop. I have saved myself an absolute fortune in the past 2 years by simply leaving my debit card at home when I go shopping. I take out whatever money I think my shopping will come to and thats that. whereas I used to go into asda for a few things and before I knew it my trolley was absolutely bursting.

Good example, Friday went into Asda for stuff for weekend, I bought a fresh chicken, some pasta and sauce, juice, potatoes few other litte bits and it all came to £16. There were loads of offers on but I only took £20 with me so I wasnt taken in by the amazing way supermarkets market their offers!!!!!

Keep a note of your spending for a week or month or whatever and then analyse your spending.

Make your own lunch instead of eating out daily, you will save a fortune. Look how you get to work, buy a season/monthly ticket which work out cheaper or see about car pooling. Check your tv packages/energy suppliers/telephone rental/mobile phones etc, if you do need to change then for something cheaper use cashback websites to take the costs down further.

Have an aim in mind, what would you like to do with the money you save? Go on holiday, buy a car or just something you've always wanted. You could also try and give the extra money to your mum/dad etc or someone you really trust and instruct them not to give you the money until a certain amount is reached or a certain date, Christmas etc. if you want a fab night out. Ask yourself if you really need something or is it just a want.

I personally don't think saving money means going without, for example get an orange sim and go to 2 for 1 orange Wednesdays and buy your pick and mix from wilkinsons 65p per 100g and your drinks from Home Bargains three pepsi or pepsi max for £1.

I hope this helps and you get where you want to go
