I loved The Eden Project when I was down there. Plenty to see and kids love the bright flowers.
Theres a booklet to download here and it has some money off vouchers at the very bottom .Paignton Zoo and the miniature village at Babbacombe are both good to visit with children
They give nice weather for the weekend! Avoid the town. Its rubbish! The Zoo in Paignton is nice, There is the Model village in St marychurch, that is nice. There are loads of beaches if you like that sort of thing. Dont go to living coasts as that is very expensive for what it is!.

I would think the zoo and model village is the best bet! On the way into torquay there is a large sainsbury. If you go in there they have a massive rack with all the leaflets in.

Oh i forgot to mention the moors. Nice to visit if the weather is nice. Takes about an hour to get there.

I live in Torquay so if theres anything else you need ask!
Thanks everyone, I def want to see the Eden project. Not to everyones taste I'm sure but my friend reckons it somewhere worth seeing once anyway. We'll go to the zoo i think as someone told us it was the best they'd ever seen. good tip to avoid Living Coasts as had seen that and thought about there.
Anything else?
some of the coastal towns are nice, teignmouth, dawlish, dawlish warren, the model village is at babbacombe i think.

eden project is quite a drive away i think.

check online or at tourist info for vouchers etc for perhaps paignton zoo and the model village. if you go to the model village keep your eye open for the streaker!!
Streaker? Eden project is 1 1/2 hr south but we'll make one day out a early start and head down there hopefully.
Hi lotscot :

A trip to Creally might suit your young ones.

A trip on a Steam Train ?

Dartmoor is a must to most, here's a family friendly venue.

A shopping trip to Trago usually finds a bargain or two and there are kids rides there.

Will you have a car ??
Thanks for those, yes we'll have car so happy to drive around

You're welcome, I'll post a few more ideas for you ASAP.
Be aware that The Eden Project is not a flat venue so you will need to take the pushchair and be prepared !
A drive along the coast road between Torquay and Exeter can be quite rewarding.

You need to take the B3199 from Torquay and follow it through to Shaldon, across Shaldon Bridge and into Teignmouth.
Find the B3199 to Dawlish and again follow that through.
Dawlish is a good place to stop, there's a nice park there and is home to Devon's Black Swans. If you're adventurous you can take the walk between Dawlish and Dawlish Warren along the sea wall and you'll be alongside the famous bit of railway line that passes right alongside the beach. (You can use a pushchair along the sea wall but you'd have to carry it up the steps Dawlish end)

From Dawlish take the A379 and follow it through to Dawlish Warren and then StarCross , past Powderham Castle and then on to the outskirts of Exeter where you can either go into Exeter or join up with the main M5 / A38 to go back to Torquay.

May seem long winded but it's not really and there are many places of interest and beauty where you can stop off or explore.

Hope you have a good time and the weather holds, it's beautiful down here today :)
