where would we be without trust

i had a idea - how to make money with a little work

physically shook hands with someone - they were making the item - i was selling - 50/50

went to see her yesterday and i knew as soon as i walked in i knew that i had been gazumped (stuffed - shes selling them)

needless to say - i am / was gutted - cie la vie - and revenge is sweet

but it wont stop me from being me

so it got me thinking about trust and what we would be missing out on if people didnt have it

well most of us wouldnt be sitting here as its mainly thanks to bill gates that we are

trivial pursuit
google

just a couple of companies who found a couple of people who trusted the guys

can you think of anyone else

no but other day an old lady in my streetasked me to post a birthday card into the royal mail box down the road as she didnt want to walk all the way there and back, so i did.

she was either

a) stupid
b) lazy
c) a trusting person

id like to think it was c.

you missed option d) old and not as physically capable as a whipper-snapper like yourself.

You're probably right about her just being trusting though, the world was a very different place when she was growing up and trust was given alot more freely than it is now.

No idea what Hollys on about though, sounds like whoever she was dealing with wasn't as good a friend as she thought, but it depends how much effort was needed to make whatever it was she'd be selling, i mean was 50/50 a fair split?

Trust is only worth using when small sums are involved. Business deals need pen and paper.
Shame really but that's how it is. Only trust someone you don't know with something you can afford to lose!

I don't even trust myself.

she wasnt a friend as such - she has a shop

50/50 was fair split -

what has pzzed me off most we actually shook hands and that to me is a done deal - ok i wasnt going to write out an agreement - second thoughts i should have

see trust!!

if you can't trust anyone, then your stuffed

without trust, your not gonna be able to believe people

watch a bbc show called hustle where they are trusted but abuse the trust

i trust most people, i expect it back in return ...... :)

the person holly is talking about, saw the greed :| and thats a trait thats becoming common, where there is greed, people will abuse trust

I think you have to put your trust in people sometimes.
I trust alot of people, but once they break that trust thats it.

Anything work or business related - trust no-one but yourself, and get any agreements recorded somehow.

Friends etc. I would hope you can trust

For me trust is a little like respect.

With respect - you have mine to start with - what you do depends on whether you keep it or not.
And depending on how much i respect you - depends on how much I trust you.

Although there are occasions where you have to trust people whether you know them or not.
