The LG BD370 seems to be the first Blu-Ray player to support Matroska playback

or just transcode them to mp4 using mkv2vob (takes seconds for a whole film)

Note the comments that mkv is actually a 'container' format and there can be no guarantee that 1 player can play every mkv file thrown at it

The Foehn & Hirsch BD2101 from ebuyer is also multiregion for bluray and DVD. This is very rare (most are only DVD MR) and may be important if you buy disks from USA
