The second one is the Yale Premium Alarm Kit, which was posted here a week ago, but seems to be out of stock.
That first one seems to be solar powered, but I can't tell if it is any better though overall.

Alternatively, if there is a better system for well under £200, then I'd be grateful if anyone could please advise.

Thanks in advance.

Better buying the parts seperate from a local alarm wholesalers, get a panel for around 30-40 , bellbox for 20 etc, then you can customise it for your needs.
Best of to get one with remote keypads and hide the panel somewhere in the house.

Argos had some alarm kit's on offer if it helps:thumbsup:

alarms.

to a very large degree they are pointless

buy a dummy box, and spend your money on improving the physical security in your house

how quick is a burglary? usually done and dusted within a few mins so an alarm is of little use

burglars pick the easiest targets, so if your physical security is strong, they'll look at the next house and the next house until they find a weaker option.

Understood; but aren't dummy boxes easy to identify to the habitual house burglar?

I think the GET one is better, Yale was over priced to start with

I got the SA5 for £69 couple of years ago, though mine came with 2 remotes and 4 PIR sensors and 3 door sensors

well, buy an actual alarm cover then!

still a fraction of the cost o a real alarm yet still has the necessary deterrent factor.

Would need to get a battery in it though to make the alarm active led switch on as most bell boxes have power led's on them.

looks the same as mine, had it for about 5 years, never a problem with it, mine wasnt purchased for the sole reason of a deterrant, more for my piece of mind at night, dont use it when im not at home, only used at night:oops:

sound like my missus. I work nights so she's left on her own, she's got a panic button on it and it rings me if she presses it :whistling:

got home in 8 minutes so far
