I have bought a DSi to replace our old DS Lite.

I have read that this can occur with cloned acekards. Mine came from dealxtreme who don't sell them anymore.

Is there a decent UK supplier of these type of things and if so, which should I go for.

Many thanks

If your dsi is on the latest firmware and your Acekard has not been updated to its latest firmware then it will not work on a dsi but will on a ds(light).

Not sure what links im allowed to put on here but do a bit of googling as i had same problem. Had to upgrade card in ds light to work on dsi (as dsi would not upgrade it)

try googling
upgrade in ds lite for dsi acekard

and take first option

You have got an incorrectly labelled Acekard 2 card.

I myself got one, and couldn't work out what was happening. I tried another AK2i card that I have, and it worked 1st time.
Dealextreme do still sell them, just contact them and they'll advise you what to do.

Thanks Saint and goodnight, I will try the fix first as my DSi is version 1.4e which may explain it.

That will most likely be it then.
The fix only takes a minute to do once you've downloaded the correct files.
