you would fit more on a dvd r but if you want to add more later on use a rewritable disk hth xxx

a dvd will fit more than a cd, do not finalise the disc so you can add more at a later date

cdr stores 700mb of data, dvdr will store around 4.5gig so you can store a lot more on DVD-r

You can use either one...both will support picture formats i.e jpeg it just depends on how many pictures you are looking to store.

Like everyone has alreqady mentioned, you can use a cd which is 700mb (about 400 pics) or a dvd which is 4.7gb (about 2,600 pics) depending on the quality of the pics and the megapixels of the camera.

Note that you can only use DVD-R discs if you have a DVD writer installed on your computer. You can't use a DVD-R disc in a CD-R/RW drive. This usually goes without saying but since you mentioned you're a bit of a "technological idiot", I just thought I'd mention it :)
