Which doll to buy my daughter for Christmas?

Hello,
I was hoping that some of you out there may have some suggestions or recommendations for me.

My daughter loves playing with her baby (it was mine when I was little) and I'd like to buy her one for Christmas that maybe does a bit more (my old one doesn't even have eyes that open).

There are so many out there!
She will be 19 months at Christmas.
I was looking at the Baby Annabell ones, there is one called Tender Kisses which seems quite interactive that might be one she could grow with.
I definitely don't want one she can feed actual food! and it needs to look sweet and not make annoying/overly mechanical noises (some of them are quite scary looking!)
I'd also like one where you can buy clothes etc to fit it, maybe for her birthday when she is two, although I guess they can probably wear clothes from a variety of different dolls?

Anyway, any help much appreciated, or anything that you would avoid for any reason?

Thank you

My daughter has had Baby Born since she was 4 (now 16). My now 4 year old plays with it and all the clothes we bought over the years so although some were expensive they've been an investment because they've been played with by 3 of my girls. We've also got the cot/buggy/wardrobe. These were all given as birthday/christmas gifts though and from relatives etc. The one thing we did do was though was we took the food away when we first got it so she had no idea you could feed it! Didn't want it all clogged up inside etc and she was none the wiser.

EDIT - I would avoid Baby Annabel as its really annoing and noisy! She got that one too and we were always switching it off X)

thanks for the info, have looked at baby born too, there are so many new versions out now for the dolls it's hard to know what has changed with it's new version (e.g amazon has baby annabel version 5!), interesting re. noise of Baby Annabell, think I need to try them out somehow before I buy!

Yes definitely go and try them out. Toysrus also have their own range called You and Me I think it's called. Uusually reasonably price and all age ranges plus loads of clothes and accessories as well.
