Ok so I normalyy use a hardware firewall in my router, but I have recently set my Dad up with a 3 mobile broadband connection and soon he will be using this as his only internet connection and therefore not behind a hardware firewall.

So my question is which firewall do you use when only using a 3G modem?

I have tried comodo but it's really intrusive and seems to take forever for it to learn your ules.

Also tried Online Armor but again its always asking the same questions aout applications and does not seem to learn the answers

Is ZoneAlarm Free still mich good?

any other ideas / suggestions

thanks

Should have said that I want an easy to use Firewall - Dad is 76 nad i do not want him having to call me every day because he does not know what to do next, but he does do online banking and the such on the internet so does need some protection.

For what is worth he uses and understands AVG free.

zone alarm is easy and user friendly, not sure about reliability.

i pay for norton for peace of mind, so far so good. £2 a month is not much really....

You probably disagree for a reason but you should have no problems with comodo once it has learnt whats what. Best available imho:thumbsup:

maybe I will give Comodo another go, but when I tried it on my PC, it kept asking the same questios about apps over and over again even when it was told to remember the answer.

I just want something that once trained will only alert the ser if something is serious
