you can use a standard HDMI cable but if you want to have the view pure 1080P and not 1080I you have to make sure that you TV is actually full HD 1080P otherwise you wont be able to get full HD. You can pick a HDMI cable up for a couple of quid, check play.com sale, they had one for about £4, (i got mine from lidl strangely enough that they had them) but if you want a proper HDMI cable which will be better for you TV as well as the 360, you will be looking at paying about £60 for one.

Hope this helps mate

Here's a nice cheap one: http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/445207/gold-plated-hdmi-to-hdmi-cable-1-5m/

Buy two if you need one for your 360 and one for your PS3, they're standard as already mentioned.

whats a "proper" cable? mine were 5 quid each from asda and the picture clarity is awesome! what exactly can a 60 quid cable do to improve on this?

thats what the extra can give you, im not coming into an argument about HDMI cables as that is extremely pathetic, i was just simply trying to help out the OP without being slated by other users. And Barky, if you read all of my comment, you will see i said i got mine from lidl for £4 so im not trying to say the cheaper ones dont work, i was just given the answer to the question !

m8-wasnt trying to start an argument-it was a genuine question as to what was meant by "proper"-having read the currys explanation Im still none the wiser anyways-lol-doesnt really explain to a layman like me why it is "better for my tv or console"

Unlike the scart generation there is no debate, only fact. With HDMI it either works or it doesn't. Quoting a load of waffle from the Currys site makes no difference. I bet the profit margins on those £80 cables are almost a good as the £15 USB printer cables they try and sell you.

All HDMI cables work exactly the same, a £4 one will produce just a goo a quality picture as a £100 one. This is tried and tested by the experts.

The only time you start needing better ones is when you start going over 5m in length

HDMI cables just send digital signals, an £80 cable will not be any better than a £5 cable, so dont go spending all your money on a cable!!!!
