o2 / be?

same company (o2 bought be, but be the brand is still around).

also if you ring be up and say you are a o2 customer, they knock money off.

I have had no complaints other than a few dns issues now and again. Its super quick 24/7

sorry i edited my post after you posted.

generally they are always well up teh league tables, and often top.

you'll get o2 broadband for very little as you have a mobile already.

I'd struggle to recommend anything else in your position really.

Question:

Have o2 stopped doing cashback on broadband? >.<

Planning to sign up to o2 tonight or something, but I'm terrified that I may have missed the boat on the uber cashback.

Not sure about cashback but sometimes O2 has offers of 2-3 months free sometimes and lime £100 cashback right now its £50 phone credit but only if you dont leave in the 30 day guarantee.

any ISP that doesn't have a support line with a crib sheet phone monkey
#8
Don't forget 02 is only any good if your exchange is LLU'd, if it isn't, steer clear.

Yeah they had a stonking offer about a month or so ago, but we dragged our heels...

Found the cashback link:

http://www.quidco.com/o2-home-broadband/

But it almost reads like you only get the £50 top up and not the proper cashback?

Meh, I'll prob still do it anyway. If they have a better offer in a few weeks I'll be miffed.

We're on o2 and download loads using RS- we've never had any problems from them. They do have a true 'Unlimited Download' policy and their customer services is fab.

Im liking the sound of the " True Download " policy.

Do they slow down customers if you overuse?

Did you say you were a heavy downloader?

They are really pants if you are. Make you pay more and throttle too!

Not really... they are the best thing since sliced bread.... just want it to stay that way....:p

Well we sometimes download 25+ gig per day and run @ 6.5mbs average. Only time it slows is when we're running all 4 computers in the house :whistling:

I'm with Be and have absolutely no complaints whatsoever, there download policy actually is unlimited and the traffic isn't shaped or restricted in anyway.

I've a mate who has virgin broadband if he downloads too much they limit his speed from 8mb to 2mb and send out a letter:w00t:.

LOL

How much were you downloading?
#21
Also with Be, they're amazing, I pay £6.75 per month for the value package. I'm a heavy user and have never had any slowdown or anything like that
#22
I went through a mad phase (We don't have a tv) of downloading series and things when I was ill. BT got narkey downloading 200 gig per week.

BT suck, we're moving from them.

Another happy Be user here, have been with them for years, pay £12/month for the unlimited package.
#25
Sound like i should avoid BT then.

Anyone with Sky ?

I foolishly dumped Be when I moved house a few years ago and went with sky.
Two month later, I was back with Be.

I have NEVER heard anybody say anything bad about 02/Be, which is worrying, as Guv says everybody will switch to them and they will turn pap.

Let's start telling everyone how bad they are!!

Im swaying in favour of O2

Just BT will be getting Fibreoptic soon , which is pretty much useless if they throttle.

when my contract was up with them they refused to match what sky had offered me. (6 months free on their top unlimited download package) so with quidco etc end paying pennies for sky broadband which touch wood so far has been brilliant with no throttling or warnings.

That little gripe apart I couldn't fault o2 when I was with them, again no throttling or warnings.

Dont belive that. No company will offer true unlimited broadband.

Addmittedly some are more leanient than others with their FUP - Download over 100gb with one company on unlimited and you get a warning letter and throttling. Do the same with a good broadband company like Be and they wont even bat an eyelid.

Try downloading a couple of terabytes of data with Sky and Im sure a letter will be through your door or your speed seriously capped.

Terabytes :w00t:

At worst i would maybe hit 60gb

I was with Sky for around 3 months and went straight to o2. I would recommend going with o2 premium package. Been with them for around a year now and have no complaints. You get £5 off as you're an o2 customer.

Virgin is good as long as you go for their 50Mbps package, the others are all **** and have the usual Fair Use policies, whereas the 50Mb package doesn't.
