Depends on quite a few factors as size isn't the only factor. Your best off going out there and looking a few different sets to see what you prefer.

Viewing distance, lighting, SD or HD are just some of the things you'll need to consider when deciding if you want an LCD or Plasma. I'd head over to avforums.com for a bit of advice if I were you!

there isnt a BEST so thats why manufacturers continue to make and sell both types.
if one was a clear winner, shops would only sell that type

LCD all the way 40" plus and 100Hz of course
Plasmas eat electricity; suffer screen burn, huge heavy things.
LCD Eco Green(er) No screen burn lighter and slimmer.
