Whose coverage is the best this year?

I normally prefer the bbc coverage but this year it seems a bit flat. Itv have the better intro and music but its pundits arent great

what are your thoughts?

Also the picture quality on ITV is **** poor (and alsways has been) It's almost like watching tv with clingfilm stuck over your head!

At least the BBC have the football in HD which is actually quite good quality HD,( unlike the poor attempt on itvHD which is only available to freesat viewers and still only just about manages to equal the quality of a normal sky broadcast!)

Dunno what you are watching it on but ITV HD is every bit as good - and there is no reason a sky HD box couldnt receive it either.

BBC. I just love Hansens wit and Linekers sarcasm..and triple this with O'Learys intellect!! I tend to switch on more for this than the game..especially if they play like France did!!

Pleased to here that the picture quality is good through ITV HD guv.. Got to say the picture quality for the football on BBC HD is stunning IMHO.. I'm soo tempted to get a freesat receiver espeically with the comet offer but I will wait for a month or two to see if ITV HD join the sky HD service.. I'm hoping soo.

prefer the bbc because of no adverts but hate the fact all the pundits are looking and acting as if they'd rather be anywhere else all because theres no england.

linekers acting like he'd rather be commentating on the golf.

I cant see any difference. They are both excellent.

Glad I invested (only bought the receiver on Saturday!)

Just noticed you'd edited!!!! Dont think they will officially join sky - but you should be able to use a sky HD box to see the channel regardless (you just need to manual tune!)

Thanks for that guv.. I'll keep an eye on digitalspy or avforums to see if anyone has managed to manual tune a sky HD box.. Otherwise I might invest.. Apart from the football have ITV broadcast any other programs in HD?

At the mo, its only BBC, ITV and something called Luxe - Channel 4 will join shortly. Im sure others will follow - and best of all its free!

Having said that, the box I bought has a few more HD channels I can get on other satellites.

I'll see if I can dig something out that says how to manual tune. Do you have sky HD BTW?

Thanks guv.. I do have a sky HD box. I find the picture quality really impressive but if I could find a way of receiving HD without paying sky £10 for the pleasure I would..I do hope freesat do compete with sky on this.. I use the HD box on a sammy M87 40" LCD.. I bet the HD picture would look stunning on a bigger panel..
