All 3 are completely different.

NFS is a arcade racer, F1 is just F1 and GT 5 is a simulator.

People seem disappointed with GT5 so I would say NFS being the better/more enjoyable game

Yea them sort of comments are what led me to posting this thread as i was going out to buy it but seeing more negetives than postitives about GT5.

IGN gave GT5 8.5 and Eurogamer a 9

What you have to remember is with big games you'll get loads of people that will slate it without playing it.

I'm not impressed with those scores compare that to Forza 3 IGN gave 9.4, Eurogamer gave 9 and GT5 isn't looking like the so called perfect game "Darkknight" was telling us all about.

Gamereactor just gave GT5 70/100 now that is not good.

Ouch.............don't think it ever was going to be able to live upto the hype though after all the delays etc.

Where has it all gone wrong for them? Surely in striving for perfection they should have at least come close.

I bet you've been praying for the last couple of weeks to see some bad reviews :D
What are reviews? They are opinions only.
Grand Theft Auto 4 received 10/10 on most websites, so i guess that's the best game ever made? (It's not by the way)
Don't make the rookie mistake of stating reviews as facts.

I think too many people expected too much from GT5, like for it to even make them tea or something. It's a racing simulator only, and i would say it looks amazing. Yes the damage won't be the best, but then it's a game about car crashing, if you want that then you buy Burnout.

"Won't be" or "Is not"? The game is out btw.

I think you were more likely the one who was praying for "Good" reviews. :D
It Dosen't bother me what score it got, I have Forza 3 and if this had better reviews I would of bought it as well but as it's losing to Forza 3 on just about every review (NON dedicated PS3 review sites of course) I don't see I would gain anything from buying it.

Another one -
CVG gives GT5 8/10
"as you roll out of the pits for the first time, you'll look at the environment and hear a nagging voice in the back of your mind. That voice will be saying 'this isn't a very pretty game'.
No, we're not mad: there's no flair to GT5's graphics like in Codemasters' games, it's all cold, clinical precision. The problem is, if you slavishly attempt to replicate real life, like Polyphony has, it's all the more obvious when you can't quite get there. Blurry textures, angular scenery and barren landscapes are, if you'll excuse the pun, par for the course.

While the premium cars are undeniably gloriously detailed, they look entirely out of place in such drab environments, surrounded by cardboard cut-out trees. City tracks fare better, but only just."

Haven't picked up my GT5 yet but Forza 3 is a fantastic game .

With such a childish comment i don't think you'll be playing GT5 if it's for men.

I ordered it last night, i'll let you know what it's like when I eventually get it! :D
I have F1, I really like it and there are a lot less bugs since the patch.
Never been much of a NFS fan but with Criterion at the helm it should be great.

anyone know how to tell what are premium cars vs standard ones when buying them?

I played gt5 for a couple of hours last night, suprisingly enjoyable as i was never a huge fan of the series, the go karts are great fun

Only thing that i don't like and i think is a bit pointless is when you unlock "special events".. just pointless races.

One i had last night, racing VW campers around the top gear track.

It was just a convoy of VW campers doing 45 mph, whee's the fun in that??

Whilst the game isnt the 'perfect' game someone was quoting continuously, I'm staggered with the CVG reviews references to cardboard cutout trees and blurry textures. I reckon they were playing GT4!

the trees etc are near photo realistic and have 3 dimensions.

e.g.

Agree that the menu design is atrocious.

Darkknight, have you actually read back any of your own comments? You sound like a true fanboy. Rather than wanting to play GT5 you just want to take the p*** out of forza.

By the way, "it was made by perfectionists" as dark knight stated a little while back.

The problem with GT5 is that, Forza 3 has already done most of what GT5 can do, so none of it is really new, perhaps if it had come out 2 years earlier it would've met with much better reviews. GT5 is playing catch up.

I've kept £9.99 to one side but think I might now wait for it to be £4.99 in Currys/Comets/Pcworlds bargain baskets

And GT 1,2,3, 4 and the Prologue's did it before Forza.

Difference is look how long it took to make GT5, do you see any breathtaking features? No. Is it a masterpiece? No. Forza did it in a third of the time and did everything that GT5 does now. By the way no one evens look back on the older gts anymore everyone is comparing gt5 to forza 3.

Well, when my copy of GT5 arrives I'll be able to compare them directly as I've already played Forza 3

I haven't taken the p*** out of Forza, i've just said that GT is better than Forza. (Inb4 Mr Gates with his revoows)
Yes PD are perfectionists, if they were not then it wouldn't have taken them 5 years to make it. By saying perfectionists i'm not saying it's the most perfect game ever, just saying about their production style.

By saying Forza can do what GT can do is like saying Pro Evo can do what FIFA does. (And we all know which one is better between those)
