Which mobile contract should I go for?

I've seen the Orange £15 -100 minutes unlimited text deal and am tempted to go for it.

I've been thinking about changing from payg to contract for a while now (i'm currently on orange payg). I was just wondering if anyone knows of any better deals?

I only want to spend £10 - £15 a month. I only use the phone for calls and texting so don't need a particularly fancy phone. I was going to plump for the LG KE970 Shine Pink as it is pretty and has a good sized screen (important for texting)

Your advice would be appreciated.

Thanks, I have just looked at that and yes for £15 I can have 300 minutes/texts. Anyone know what the coverage is like on 3? I'm in St Albans.

Then my problem is which phone?!!!

the £15 ornge deal seems very good. just get a good phone from them and sell the phone also get £60 quidco
any phone you buy from them should sell for atleast £50
£50 resale phone money and £60 quidco
which is like £110 cashback

Stay clear of Orange!!!! They'll link your name to random addresses across the UK and ruin your credit rating.
Not that I'm bitter or anything.

Thank you everyone for your advice. I have decided to go for the orange deal as the £60 quidco makes an easy discount. I have been with orange payg for years now and haven't had a problem. Fingers crossed that my new contract goes as smoothly.

Is this true? I have been with orange for years and my credit rating is really bad - well, it doesn’t see to be on paper, and I have only ever missed a few credit card payments when i first started at university 8 years ago, but still cant get credit - i always wondered what it was.

Doe anyone know any more about this ?

You will need to use one of the credit reference agancies to find out any negative things that have been logged to your name. Phone companies (landline as well) are the worst offenders for doing this. When I left NTHell, they claimed I owed them about £2.75 for line rental after I was already with BT which was disputed. Despite numerous calls and promises "it was all sorted", the bills kept coming for this "outstanding balance". Eventually someone said it was now sorted and the bills stopped. Three years later, I applied for interest free credit on a leather suite and declined. After applying to equifax, I learnt that NTHell had lodged a negative reference despite the fact I owed them nothing. So be warned when dealing with phone companies. They lie through their teeth and are the worst people to deal with if your credit reference is important to you.
