"Which phone" advice needed!!

OK - to cut a long story short - Ive got an O2 contract that I phoned to cancel because of their 0870 price hyke.

Theyve agreed without a fight - though I suggested Id be prepared to stay if they offered me a good deal. I think they have!

Basically the current phone is on cashback - with 3 months to run (but one payment lost for month 8 if I cancel)

They have offered me:

£105 credit for lost cashback

with an N95
18 months £24 400mins + 500 text
12 months £28 400mins + 500 text

Or any of these phones: Sony W580i, W800i, W810i, W610i, Nokia 6300, 7373, 5500sport
12 months £15 250 mins (ends up costing me £75 for the year)

Id obviously like the N95 - but it works out a great deal more (for good reason!)

So am looking at the £15 option - but havent a clue on any of these phones.

I know I could go into a shop and view - but probably get more sense from you guys!

So what should I go for?

all depends on how much You want to spend..N95 top of the range phone so much you can do with it, but you pay the price, and there is a new version on the way N95 8gb Black..

The bottom line is ..its alwasy going to be a phone which ever way you look at it .. line rental/texts/interent blah blah blah ...

If I were you ..sit down work out whats its going to cost you over the 12 months etc and then decide if you can afford to line the pockets of some multi national phone compnay

or just get cheap phone that you can ring on and text and bobs your aunty..

me I pay £19>99 a month zillion text and 350 mins, stop the clock average bill per month 19>99

me cheap option ...

oh and a norman nokia for me every time.. just because I like them and easy to use

Cheers for that. I did say Id already decided on the cheaper option - just havent a clue which phone of that list would be the best to go for.

I'd always tend to go Nokia also. The last Sony I had W500i was pants for battery!

So maybe an easier option to narrow down - which ones on that list are pants!

Not a particuarly inspiring line up, but it would be either the W580i or the 6300.

OK ta. Must admit, I'd thought the W810i would have been the one picked!

Just had a look at those ones. Think the N6300 looks ugly (though peeps have said it looks great! Hmm!) Anyway - seems the battery life on this one is a bit naff. Sony one says 370 hours standby. But then I never trust those figures!

Used to have the old one that looks the same (with rubber flashing bumbers). Thats now my alarm clock! :giggle:

Anyone know what the charging is on these? I think I would be fine with any Nokia for USB charging. (I have 2 seperate Nokia USB cables that will do both the old and new style) Not sure about the Sony though? Is it the same connection as the W700i? (thats what the missus has - and it will be her phone anyway!)

I got this a few weeks ago. Battery life is good. dont need to charge it for 3-4 days. I would go for this one.

OK cheers everyone.

Went for the W580i in the end. Think it was a good deal!

£140 deposited into my account (NOW - not cashback), the phone, 250mins pm @ £15 per month for 12 months. Works out at £40 for the whole year and no worries about cashbacks not paying out.

I'd still rather have my free 0870 calls though!!!!
