Yes, I know it depends on what you pack, but for the average person with clothes and a few pairs of shoes.

the largest, strongest but lightest one you can find.
#6
the lightest but also one that keeps within the guidelines of the airline or atleast fits in one of those measuring thingymabobs.

Some suitcases will have outlined that they're suitable to be classed as hand luggage. Nonetheless, check airline dimensions with the dimensions stated on the suitcase. They DO check the size, but not usually the weight.

Just check for ones that say Large :/ We bought 2 large hard case's lightweight ones. We packed 2 of these to the brim which stored enough clothes for 2 adults and 3 children, 1 of these filled right up was dead on 20kg when we came home. All depends if you are taking a suitcase full or jeans or summer clothes! lol

And btw if its just for 1 person you will never need 20kg worth of clothing! At least have a bit of free space for the tobacco you will more than likely want or be given an order for :)

yeah why on earth are people mentioning hand luggage? Also I've never seen at check in a tape measure whipped out to measure the size of luggage going into the hold.

this reminds me, anyone over 12 stone should pay £100 extra per half stone. If this wouldn't get the nation slimming down nothing will. p.s. I'm 12.5 at the moment, was 13 while training :p

My bad.. what airline checks the dimensions of hold luggage? if you're saying 20kg, any suitcase will do.. they don't check the sizes as far as I'm aware?

Like your thinking but then my husband who takes all sorts of supplements, weight trains and runs can sometimes be hitting a little over 13 and half st. so would cost him £300 more just for taking care of his body lol
Also I would expect £200 knocked off my ticket price then at just under 9st :p

it swings and roundabouts beth so you're only paying £100 extra :)

there you go an extra incentive for you both to lose half a stone each before you go on hols...win,win

this could work lumoruk, whoever said you were daft were totally wrong? X)

you always have to go to oversized luggage with rucksacks.

dga
It should be on BMI surely ;)

According to the other BMI I'm 1/2st off obese oO

No because when I was training/playing rugby I was classed as overweight :p but I had never looked so good. If you're 1/2st off obese you must be well into being overweight :{

Didn't want to buy a suitcase that was too large, fill it with 17kg of summer clothes for me and the wife, then find out the case was too big and still half empty, if that makes sense.

Don't want to lug around a large case if I don't have to.
