Interesting to read that because I think you're dead right about Tesco's. They are becoming extremely expensive in my opinion, probably because in great areas of the country they have a near monopoly.

I've also noticed that their promotions are becoming more and more rubbishy and more and more directed at "junk food" and booze, disturbing !?

On the plus side though they when they reduce goods they do it properly and I can fill my small freezer compartment on a Sunday morning for the week ! My reason for shopping at Tesco's, lol !

Wish we had an Asda nearby.................:-(

I have noticed that Tesco's have become very expensive over the last year, I used to shop there but now we are leaning more towards Asda & Morrisons.

im not too keen on home deliveries, i shop at asda but online shopping i notice the dates on fridge food to be very short.
so i dont use it now.
\Christmas time i will as apparently you can reserve your slot in tesco so ive been told upto 3 weeks early@??? does anyone know if this is correct
#13
Asda staff seem to be the most friendliest and have everything I need. My parents shop at tesco though.
#14

#15
Tesco - it's on my bus route, it has a great clothing section.

You can always book 3 weeks in advance, not just at christmas. This is the same for all of the online grocery stores. Note: Ocado is the only place delivering on christmas eve

Tesco, my mum works there so 10% staff discount.

Asda for me. Wierd choice really as Iceland have some excellent deals AND deliver free but nobody shops there:?

have you guys noticed that those tesco metro stores are a complete rip off. My local tesco sells almond/ chocolate croissants for 59p, while the metro by my uni is selling them for 89p

I don't think they are a "ripoff" i think they just sell their best stuff and do not sell value products.....

I have been doing my "big shop" at Tesco for the past few months as I had some brill health & beauty money off vouchers and saved a fortune, but I have started to notice their prices creeping up! might have to shop around in the new year! hate our local Asda, staff are lovely but the clientelle leaves a lot to be desired!

the Morrisons near me is a fantastic store. They have a really nice hot chicken counter, a good cafe place, and more importantly helpful staff. We dont have an Asda around here, so I can't comment on that, but we do have a tesco and i find it expensive in comparison.

Morrissons in Coalville, it's been there for 10 years I think, so was one of the first in the Midlands, I remember having friends who travelled maybe 5-10 miles to shop there 'cos it was quite unique at the time, with the market street type layout of counters for the bakery, deli, hot chickens etc.

We are used to it now and lots of other supermarkets have similar set ups :-D

Can't wih Asda where I live either:-(

Icelands is good for people who want to go into town for a wander but are too lazy to carry their food home, or for those that don't own cars etc and can't actually get to the main supermarkets easily.
