Hi;

I have been in an accident recently and fell of my bike broking my leg as a result and had to go through a surgery! Plates and screws were installed to keep my bones together!

I did some search on the internet and came across with White Dalton Solicitors specialised in Motorcycle accidents.

I am thinking of using White Dalton for compensation claim! Has anyone used them before or have any knowledge/review?

Thanks

Not unless the OP has legal cover on his insurance, and even then he probably won't need it if he has a decent case, as a solicitor will likely take it on a CFA ('no win no fee'). Insurers will only pass the claim along to one of their panel of solicitors anyway.

One presumes the accident was the fault of another road user. So pain, suffering, loss of amenity, special damage (including loss of earnings etc). All that jazz.

Hey guys, thanks for your responds.

To start with, i do have a legal cover but i have the feeling they are not as good as any other firm. Not even better than NAH (National Accident Helpline)

I really dont want to go into details of the accident as i am sure some will come up and say "if you dont have life threatening or serious injury, dont do it!" However, only thing i can say is that it doesnt involve any other motorist but the road surface! So it involves the council!

I have broken my ankle and have the risk of losing my job as the healing process might take upto 16 weeks and i pay rent! My work involves lots of standing so i need my feet strong!

NAH said my case is strong enough and they will take tha case. However, i am not feeling they are good enough as they are not speialised in motorcyclists! Defending 2 wheel isnt the same as defendin 4 wheel! Because the road surface might be safe for 4 wheel but not for a bike! Not at all!

Than i cam across with White Dalton hich seemed pretty confident and professional. They had a page on wiki which has been removed and an article on the Times Online whis doesnt say much!

Than there is BikeLawyer.co.uk. They are specialised in motorcycle accidents as well! But not sure which is the best!

Should i stick with my Legal Cover?...

When I had my accident my legal cover did not want to pursue so I went with the above who were happy to take it on no win no fee. Took a few months but I got a nice payout in the end.

You don't need a firm specialised in motorcyclist claims. The procedure and law are identical to that in a claim that would involve a car. It would be common sense for solicitor to realise that a pothole or other defect is going to affect a motorcycle in a different way to a car; you don't need to be a 'specialist' to know that. In any event if that becomes an issue within the litigation it will be an issue that will be resolved by way of expert evidence, not the knowledge of the solicitors.

In short, you do not need a 'specialist' firm to take this. Any reputable personal injury firm will do. I have not dealt with White Dalton, so do not know how good they are in any event, though I would perhaps be instinctively concerned about a firm that seems to choose their solicitors on the basis of whether or not they ride a motorcycle themselves. A solicitor's ability level is not dependent on whether or not they ride a motorcycle.

By all means if you want to go with one of those firms then it's your choice. But don't assume that a firm can't represent you perfectly well unless they claim to be a motorcycle 'specialist'.
