Yes it is a K550i and not working. The screen is just white. All the other lights etc are working. But cannot see anything on the screen. Have taken out the battery but, turned off / on etc but no difference.

Don't want to spend out on another phone. Appreciate any suggestions what to try next guys.

Erickson?

Shame, if it was a Sony Ericsson you'd have been covered by their limited 2 year warranty.

That's what you get for buying cheap ripoffs! :)

I'm thinking your phone will be quite close to you, possibly within your line of sight.

How hard would it have been to simply look at it to see how to spell the name of the manufacturer properly? Not very. :x

might be a loose ribbon, if it carries out normal functions but just a white screen? or a faulty lcd controller.

just download, install and connect your phone to seus (sony ericsson update service) that link will guide you through it, as will the program itself. it is what sony ericsson themselves will advise you do first before sending the phone anyway.

Fishing is the activity of catching fish.

Flashing has a number of meanings, however in this sense it means re-writting the firmware (Software) on your handset...

It seems more like a broken LCD to me though

ok i have just fixed a k800i with a white screen. DO NOT UPDATE IT USING SEUS!! if you update it by sony ericsson update service it will change your cid number to 53 meaning you cant fix it for free.

downloads XS++ and follow the guide i posted.

Wrong Cid 53 has been flashable for ages and Cid 53 has been patch unlockable for at least 3 months, both for free.

my bad i must of read a guide which was 1 year old and it said do not update to cid 53.

Eventually did all the update / software stuff. No difference. New phone now (Nokia...no more SE for this family)

Apparently it is the screen that needs replacing. Have seen some for sale on EB*y. Is it an easy job. If I can do it myself, would be able to sell it and recoup some of my money.
