I was lucky enough to get a VIP Slot for last Saturday so managed to order what I wanted beforehand. I was going to go in this morning as a couple of bits I was after were sold out but I am still mentally scarred from my last visit to the Next Sale (it is seriously scary!) and decided against it.

Apparently it was absolutely horrendous at my local Next this morning. My brother works their part time and had to be in at before 5am. When he was let into the store, people were booing him. Nice! According to the local news, people started queuing outside at 1am........madness!!

Anyone else brave the crowds (and the cold)?

I really don't understand the crazyness that is the next sale :?
why would you want to get out of your bead and wait in the freezing cold just to get a few quid of an overpriced pair of trousers

if you have ever been to a next sale before then people should know not to take children. my daughter who is 7 got trampled on about 3 years ago so I said I would not put her through that. That was at 9 in the morning!!

i went to the belfast one, only cos i came out of a club at 3 n it started at 4 never again, lets just say one pair of jeans was not worth one very sore wrist (some people just have no manners)

I agree, I find it really scary so it must be really horrible for a little child! The shoppers are just mental and don't care who they shove out of the way to get what they want.

I really don't like going to the Next Sale at any time during the first three or four days as it is just crazy.

The one and only time I went to the Next Sale at 5am, I was pushed out of the way by several people, screamed at by some woman because I picked up a Jacket she wanted and swore at (under their breath) by a few people for apparently "getting in their way" .

no i have never been on the first day before and like i said downstairs looked quiet and when i saw how busy it was we left not worth putting them through that for a few tops. i normally go about 5 days after it started and still manage to find a few bargains :)

BBC Radio 5 Live were reporting (about 11am) that 4 female shoppers required ambulance treatment in the West Midlands outside next stores - 2 feinted, 1 shortness of breath and 1 jammed their hand in a door! Hardly seems worth queuing for really :-D

My sister works in a Next, she said it was absolute madness today (as expected!) and the "customers" behave like animals!

Aparently, also she said there is hardly anything to speak of left this year already.

I didn't bother going this morning, but went later on. There are a lot of rude people about - I got shoved out of the way by this burly bloke. Didn't buy anything though - it was all picked over, and none of the stuff had really appealed to me anyway this year. Noticed a lot of stuff in there that was old stuff left over from the summer and last year. Not so great, and definitely not deserving of all the hype!

One thing I don't understand is why does it start at 5am, is it some kind of marketing scheme to make people think that "well the deals must be good if it opens at 5am"
