Ours covers it if anythign needs fixing. We've called them out 3/4 times in the last 3 years with no problems, once with a small leak in the loft and the rest because of our stupid boiler. The boiler has never completely packed it just decides it doesnt want to work properly every now and again. Think they cover up to 1.5k per incident and its home emergency cover so covers other problems in the house to.

Lloyds, Its £25 pm but i think there are lower packages with home emergency we just wanted all the other stuff to. I think Halifax do a good one also.

British Gas - £13 a month including pipework.

Saved us a few bob as we recently had to have our heat exchanger replaced - they were very efficient.

EDIT: Forgot to mention we pay no excesses.

My Boiler blew up last Wednesday.... about an hour after a new Rad fitted and refilled in the downstairs loo where the boiler is located. It is under warrenty, but obviously not for dodgy workmanship (which I was fearing!) On Thursday, the Worcester Bosch man arrived and the nice new copper work hidden so it didnt attract his attention. Fortunately, it turned out to be the transformer on the control panel (which had literally exploded and explains the enourmous amount of smoke we saw!) That repair would have been £700 if it wasnt under warrenty! I'll be sure to get cover too when the warrenty runs out! Not sure how they can justify, when the boiler is sub £1000 new and complete!

Still have ours on the manufacturers cover - need to do the same in 6 months and look around and get quotes.

I pay about £5 a month with Homeserve (and got £40 cashback), and will have to pay £50 if I call them out. But I've lived here 6 years and the boiler has been fine so far... (touching wood).

The quotes are area dependant.

Am with Homeserve and pay around £18 a month - but thats a home emergency policy which also covers the boiler - up to £1000 worth of repairs. Though u dont get your boiler serviced with that policy. I got a new combi year past christmas, but prior to that my old boiler was constantly breaking down and that policy saved me a fortune (along with loads of other things it covered)

thanks bossy, but want an annual service i think, also BG covers you should it be beyond repair under 7 years they will replace, as boiler only 2 yrs old and got pretty crap reviews think i may be better to go with cover that offers this option

Scottish/British Gas covers boiler/plumbing/electricity pay approx £27 per month no call out fees, boiler service once per year. called about electrics once, blocked drains twice and bolier repair/leaking radiators about 4 times and all repaired with in 24 hours, also if you have babies/pensioners in house they get there quicker than that.
