Who else thinks CEX are muppets?

Daughter got a game from CEX few months ago - DS Chronicles of Narnia. Shes 9. She played it. Didnt like it. So we look it back today to exchange for something else. They checked the game and its actually Prince Caspian in the box not Chronicles of Narnia. So they refused to accept and therefore is now worthless. (They gave us the wrong game). My daughter didnt know it was the wrong game and I never played it. So only found this out today.

Wanted a game a few weeks ago - case out but they couldnt find it. This has happenned a few times. Ahhh

Try contacting their head office and compain. I cant stand them and just trade at gamestation where they'll match / beat cex trade in prices anyway

Yes but if you were in their position it would be difficult to know whether it was their mistake or if the returning person simply swapped the game for profit. I understand that it's their fault and I personally don't like them, but when I buy from them I check the contents before I leave the store because it has happened to me before.

OMG so true!

The bloke in there today was chatting to a colleague about a dvd a customer traded in. It as Coupling. He said "I used to fancy her until I realised she looked like my sister".

Yes, but you had a chance to check it in the store, when you got home, when it was 1st played, etc etc.
I wouldn't take the word of someone who queried a mistake months down the line. Sorry.

Thats not my point...my point is they are useless. They lose the games that are traded in, they give people wrong games, the staff are rude (in many stores)

" I bought a game from cex and even though my daughter had been playing no one notice it was the wrong game in the box until months later, i feel we are such a family of muppets"

does that look more in line with what your saying?

sorry I thought your name said 'i was born because my mum looked at contraception and said whatsThePoint' i swear it used to be 'so now I try to be helpful in threads in a non-helpful way but they dont see whatsThePoint'

a call to head office wouldnt hurt, you could have easily bought this as a present and you wouldnt check it then, would you.

i wouldnt bother taking it to the shop because they all look about 15 YO and are pretty useless and rude.

Agree will do next time (well not from them as not going there again) - it was my daughter who got it though and so I have not even looked at it. Oh well

Surely it's like complaining Tesco wouldn't give me the tenner they shortchanged me on a few weeks ago?

CeX are useless. Just look at other posts on here or their Facebook group for proof!

My experiences with them haven't been very positive.
- Bought something online and they sent the wrong item
- Have been fobbed off in-store with that old "we haven't got any cash" excuse many times. Maybe it's true, but it's very annoying when you've made a special trip
- Took a hard drive in. They needed an hour to test it so I went away for an hour. Came back and they told me they hadn't tested it because they didn't have a SATA cable! Didn't even think to call my mobile number (which I'd just given them!) and let me know...

I don't mind people insulting my son. He's a fool, and deserves it.
I send him to school with trousers that are 3 inches too short purposely.

I said your child might be a bit of a muppet for not even realising it said prince caspian and not chronicles of narnia on bootup, surely a 9 year old can read?

Inb4 the wave of hate but for some reason its not ok to call a 9 year old child a muppet but its fine to call an adult one

My son is also dyslexic, but he can tell one character from another, as you don't need to read who someone is to know who it is.

I don't understand what you expected from them, I can't buy a preowned game from game and take it back after a few months and swap it for another.

Or is this something they do anyway?

The fact that it is a different game anyway doesn't really come into it, I would have thought the amount of time lapsed would be the main point of refusal

I think they were trying to trade it in for something else and they wouldn't (rightfully) accept it.

Exactly because of the time that had passed.
Listen, If I bought a game from a shop yesterday and went back today and explained that it had the wrong game in it, then I'm pretty sure most places would refund me or exchange the game for what I wanted (Its not worth the aggro for them not to)

But we are talking months here. I personally don't blame them and we are all to quick to blame the retailer these days but in this case if it was my business I'd personally tell you to get on your bike as well. Just my opinion
