We've decided to go home because from between 9am and 12pm, 8 inches fell, and it was still coming down hard.

You fancy doing our paths? We have about 2+ foot of snow covering the street's. I had to drive my car onto the pathway at 20 mph, just to get parked.

The roads are great here in newcastle. It used to take me about 25-30 minutes to get home, then it started getting bad (before the snow) where it took about an hour. With the snow, I got home yesterday in 15 minutes. Today it took me 45 mins, but even still, it's actually quicker than normal.

It's desperately trying to snow in NP20 but so far, no concens for getting home later. I'd be a bit more worried if I had to travel home up some of the valleys though.

No snow at all here whatsoever! (Cambridge)

Hasn't snowed here for 3 days. Most of it has gone, just seems to be slushy or compacted stuff on the paths

I live pretty much where east midlands meets east Anglia (West Anglia?) which I keep reading are going to be the worst hit areas. oO

Loads of snow here down south. Took 7.5 hrs to drive back from Staines (left about 7pm) , usually takes about 1h 30mins on normal run got in aft 2am

M25 was gridlocked last night, most trucks ended up parked on hard shoulder for the night. Once on M25 couldn't get off! At one point only did 11.5 miles in about 4 hours.

Got about 8+ inches snow now, gave up driving car.Wheels just spin or it slides back when on slight hill (even with hand brake on). Managed to park in on flat bit of road and walk to back to house.

Stayed home today. Saw an UPS delivery van at lunch time go wizzing past on icy/snow roads, amazed at speed he was doing, especially with it being a narrow road and parked cars.
oO

Kids round neighbours house (who live on a steep side road) all sledging and having snowball fights, drinking lots of hot chocolate (and mulled wine for stay at home adults) Roads round here fairly empty, even though there's been a few crazy drivers that go too fast and surprise themselves when they brake and skid on black ice. And they reckon it will last till Saturday.

Loada and loads of it here in Sunderland....schools closed Monday and Tuesday, re-opened today then closed them early! The main roads aren't too bad but the side roads are a nightmare. I called in on an elderly man i know to drop him some food off and it was drifted right up his door about a foot deep...poor old soul! The elderly have a hard time in these conditions..I have been popping into my neighbours before I go out to see if they need anything and most of them are just grateful to speak to someone!
