i took my car to Kwik Fit to have my car re-gassed this morn
i left them to it and wandered round town for a bit
when i went back to the garage i was called to see the manager and he said while it was being gassed a pipe has broke at a join he said it was common cos it was under pressure
i said to him that i have never heard that before and i asked him if he used both ports to fill it up he replied "no as there was only one"
i was told there are two
is it down to me as it is a 10 year old car or it down to them
on leaving the store i said i be in touch

all help needed thanks

that's all i read, your fault for going there
#2
nah its their fault its broke.
#3
its their fault, they broke it.
#4
its their fault. But never go to Kwik Fit.
#5
ok what do i do now if its there fault they wont pay to get it repaired
i had i checked out and its cos it was under too much pressure that why it went but joints do go i suppose

I would take it to an indepedent garage and have it assessed if there's one you know well that will do this - if they think the damage is just wear and tear then there's not much you can do with Kwik-fit but if they find it is damage as a result of Kwik-fit not doing it properly thne I'd get it writing and take it back to them.

Unfortunately I have to mirror the comments about taking it to Kwik-Fit, they seem generally hopeless with cars and want to replace every part they can. I made the error of taking my car there one time as due to a failing brake I pretty much had to, they wanted to replace even relatively new parts claiming they had warped and they didn't even fit the new brake properly.

Kwik-fit have always been super - tightened my handbrake for free (!!). Ask nicely if they will fix it for free.

Surely they should have checked the joint first & told you of the possibility of this happening before they re gassed if this is a common problem.
As previously said, take it to another garage to be assessed & see what they say.
Good luck

Kwik-fit are con artist. you get a quote. agree come back and they find something else wrng and charge extra. THEY CON EVER ONE. never use them
#11
if its a "common issue" then they should have taken "due diligence" when re-gassing. ie they should have run it through a pressure regulator before connecting it to the car.

its their fault. write a letter and send it via registered post/recorded delivery. include quotes from other garages for the repair cost if possible. if they still refuse then contact trading standards, if that fails its the small claims court

Kwik Fit There Fault! It's got to be! They never do nothing wrong!
#13
Course they do!!!!!!!
#14
If there is any sign of corrosion or wear and tear ( and on a 10 year old car I'll be amazed if there isn't ) the responsibility is yours not Kwik Fit regardless of what everyone seems to be telling you on here.
#15
try to get them to go halves with you on the cost for the repair
