Not drinking is just dangerous. I hope this doesn't lead to people placing extra strain on our emergency services.

Can you use chewing gum?

Just thinking that if you can't drink water then bad breath is a real possibility.
#22
I think I'll play the batman game all day today lol

Is fasting in Islam a strict religious duty that you have no choice but to observe or can a Muslim decide to not to fast? I have studied the religion of Islam over the last ten years or so, but I have never found an answer to this question. I know that Muslims with some medical conditions can opt out.

What a stupid comment to make on a thread that is based on a religious tradition that has been carried out for 100's + years Sunrise to sunset isn't long enough to cause mass dehydration, and don't you think they would be used to it by now? I can't wait to get the news of the world in the morning and read about melt down in the A &E department because people were fasting.

Why? I just asked if chewing gum was allowed. Technically you're not eating, just masticating.

Or are you disputing that not drinking doesn't contribute to halitosis?

Sorry if you're offended although I'm not sure why:?

Grrrrr i haven't got the word power to argue in his capacity but i find this quite offensive and i'm not Asian or religious or fasting for any reason. It's just narked me lol

haha you weakling fasting is a breeze and even though its hot you can stay out of the sun.

if it is dangerous for you to fast then you dont have to. you just do the fast on another day.

i very much doubt it will stink as much as your personality.

it is bad if you are able but choose not to fast but it also comes down to intention too. if you are being fake about it then your fast wont count anyway.

Again, I apologise. I honestly don't know what the position is on chewing gum and I was trying to educate myself.

I know my breath can get a little unpleasant if I don't drink.

I hope no-one is offended by my questions:oops:

Fasting for Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam (one of the 5 things you have to do to be Muslim). If fasting will be detrimental to your health then you shouldn't do it, like if you need regular medication or if you are a diabetic

Because that's one of the main reasons people chew gum. We're all grown-ups here, we can admit that we aren't perfect.

it wasn't uncalled for at all. you intentionally bait people into arguments.

"technically its not eating its masticating" - don't be a fool, chewing gum causes you to salivate which mixes with the flavour in the gum which in turn you ingest. your next baiting post would most likely suggest that one could spit out any saliva but this would make you dehydrated.

if you want to educate yourself about religion then read up about it in your own time or if you insist on asking questions here then be more sensitive with your wording and don't try to act naive when most people know what your intentions are.
