my daughters only 5months so not been asked to give it her yet, but if they do i wont be, i dont want to give it her as more people have died of normal flu and alot of people dont get vaccinated against that, plus with the swine flu jab being fairly new you dont know if anything might happen in the future.

i feel a bit like this but im worried they might get it and get really poorly, really dont know what to do keep hearing mixed opinions on it:?

Had a letter inviting us to take our 2 1/2 year old son but not our daughter as she is only 6 months old. Not taking our son as can't see the point in vaccinating one and not the other; plus as others have said, swine flu seems no worse than normal flu. Not a fan of jabs for the sake of it.

I honestly dont know. My son is 14 months, and have put it back 2 times now, when it comes to the actual day I get doubts.... 1 part of me is saying yes as I wouldnt be able to live with myself if he got poorley from it, then the other part of me is saying no dont do it.

I know every vaccine had to start somewhere, but I just dont know!

my nephew has just had his done he will be one on 14/02 and had no problems and i think it is how the individual persons body copes and reacts to illness as we are all different , one person can get flu and it doesnt really effect them and others just hit really hard so i think its hard to judge.

2 of mine have had it done i know more people have died from normal flu but think its mainly elderly etc but swine flu has killed healthy young people.i was making myself ill over what to do so i just made a desicion and tried my best not t worry about it

its a very hard choice and i dont know if i made the right one but im hoping i did x

I received a letter for my daughter to have it done yesterday and I'm unsure too....I read through all the other hundreds of 'swine flu' threads on here but that just made it worse! .....everyone has an oppinion!! lol
My son's 6 so he doesn't get it, but I think I am going to let my daughter have it. I don't think I could ever forgive myself if I did nothing and something happened. In the end the goverment might not know everything but they know a darn sight mre than I do

My boy is just a year old a few days ago - he's had a persistent cough for 6 months now - apparently they don't give the vaccine to kids who have a cough already.

we just got a letter to have our 3 year old (almost) done & my GF is pregnant so I think shes supposed to have it too - we've discussed it & I'm pretty sure shes going to have it now - dificult to know what to do for the best though isn't it.

When I was having my antenatal booking appt last week, I was chatting to the mw, she asked if I had ahd the swine flu vacc after the birth of my daughter in Oct as I have a vulnerable immune system compromised teen also, I said I had, and asked if her 2 daughters had had it done, she said she had been in two minds, but one of her colleagues 3 yr old son had contracted the virus and had been hospitalised due to being so poorly with it, she also said that 1 of the inducing/transistional labour wards had been closed at the hosp due to a swine flu outbreak, and patients/staff being quite badly affected, so decided to vaccinate her daughters.

But I am very biased about vaccinations anyway, my son contracted chickenpox at the age of 15 nearly 2 years ago, was very poorly at the time, but that has left him with an extremely serious, life changing longterm illness, I have watched my son go from a 14 stone 6ft 2 rugby/football/martial arts fanatic to a 7 stone lad who some days doesn't have the strength to swallow food, cant walk more than 15 yards on a good day and has to be cared for 24/7
