I just LOVE Christmas - am slowly decorating the house and having a fab time. Shopping in York next week. Guests arriving Christmas Eve and more on Christmas Day. Best time of the year. Think of people who are no longer with us, and have a smile at the happy memories I have of them at this time of the year!

My ex-husband has awful memories of Christmas too...

first time he ever put decorations up was for the kids.

For me it's one hell of a lot of hard work as i always do everything.

But i do enjoy the traditions of Christmas, Panto, giving of gifts, visiting family xxx

The girls and I always make huge satsuma air fresheners, cover them with cloves.... that smells of Christmas to me :)

christmas is a good/bad time for me - i have 2 young kids who love it but i miss my dad ( died just after my first kid was born )

I LOVE Christmas, family come to stay for 8 days and we all play games, go see shows and generally do all things Christmassy.

The best time is Christmas Eve, when the shops close and everything is ready, Santa is being tracked on the internet and kids are all excited. Its just great and can't wait each year.

I'm getting all excited now :santa:

Aww this thread has made me feel all christmassy
Gonna book the day off work friday n go christmas shopping with my gf now!

Christmas is an absolutely magical time of year.
There really is nothing else like it.
Although it does bring good AND bad memories/feelings as my dad passed away 2 weeks before christmas.

But on the positive side, there's just nothing like seeing your kids faces light up when they're told they can finally open their pressies and seeing your gf/partners face light up too.

I agree with what someone already said about the shops shutting xmas eve .... that's when the real countdown begins!
I always go out christmas eve and there's always a buzz in the air, just an amazing feeling :)
I also remember waiting for the last song to come on in a club on xmas eve.
It'd always be a slow/love song and for me that was the end of xmas eve and start of xmas day (although at about 3am i guess it was already xmas day lol).
There's nothing like waking up on christmas morning with your loved one in your arms :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE :santa::stocking::gift:

if you're skint it's a nightmare - but thanks to the posts around here i've managed to save a few bob this year.
(hopefully i've saved some people a few bob as well!! heh!)
....but that said - when i was loaded - christmas was a doddle - absolute joy.
now i work in tesco and i gotta work boxing day - i only get christmas eve and christmas day off. thats IT
...oh, and new years eve off - back to work on new years day nightshift.

I'm just a miserable person, gift giving or receiving doesn't overly delight me,it's just something you "have" to do coz it's Christmas.

If i had kids i'd probably be different,i just think Xmas is for the kiddies.
