the first one i went on was the Yamaha R1 was done in Rossi colours and was pretty much a 1 off. And the other was a warrier warrior was a harley davidson type bike...1700cc none in the country when purchased. 1st one in the country. MY brother in law is a bike fanatic!

ZXR400 but its parked in mums garden at the mo needing some TLC

I used to ride a Suzuki SV650S but recently changed for a Honda VT 750C Shadow.

Kinda missing the speed of the SV but I got rid of it so that me and my old man could go out together, not much fun riding an SV at a speed where a sunday rider can keep up.

We should arrange a HUKD bike meet.

Ive had a Suzuki GSX-R600 with a set of twins

Would like to do my bike test and get a bike (would like a Honda CBR400 to start with), but lack of monies and heading towards Christmas isn't good!

So i'll have to take the new harder test next summer hopefully!
#16
I have a Kawasaki 305 EX - lovely little bike n only £60 to insure cos I only do 1000mls a year on it in the summer. Just for messing about and the 'grin factor' of riding a bike :-D
#17
Come to work on mine (weather permitting) - might go to the TT next year....

Mwwaaaahahahaha

Chicks dig bikes :-D

Well actually i've never found that myself, but i guess if i had an R1 or something it might work. :geek:

I like the SV's and previous to the bandit i had a Honda Bros 400, love V twins so easy to ride. Sold it tho as it wasn't big enough to carry me and my gear round Europe in May this year

KCNW9>> good on you for getting an old geared bike as opposed to a scooter! My brother used to have an RD125, nippy bikes

My son has a R1, black new in March.
He took me out for a ride on it, and I have never been as scared in my life.:w00t: :w00t:
To keep me happy he is taking his advanced bike test.

Got a Kawasaki ZX6R for commuting and trackdays and an RGV250 because nothing beats a 2 stroke race rep for fun.
#22
All of you should get some pictures of your bikes posted on this thread

Got a brand new SV650S Sport with only 4 miles on it. Yet to pass my test. Fingers crossed it goes ok second time around (this Thursday).

Good luck for Thursday hun

Thanks hun!

I failed on something ridiculously stupid a fortnight ago. I supposedly pulled out from the side of the road in front of a car but he was miles away. B'stard examiner!

I'm a bit nervous cause I think it's gonna hammer down with rain on Thursday and I'm not looking forward to an emergency stop in the pouring rain. Fingers crossed eh!

Just sorting out my CBT, always pillion on husbands thundercat, bought a bargain bike for myself - Suzuki rf600, have rode it 3 times now off road, finding it harder than I thought, shouldn't have bought it but too good an offer. Thought bikes would be alot easier to grasp (being a car driver) but I suppose its still early days (impatient). Will end up getting 125 instead when passed CBT.

Our neighbours have GSXR1000 and Blackbird so weekends filled with bike rides and the obligatory lagers and bbq afterwards.

ps Good Luck DJTiredBoy

Good luck Djtiredboy

I too failed the test first time on some stupid thing, overtook a car on dual carriageway and didn't get back into the left lane in enough time apparently. he said i could have been holding up a car behind me, even though there were no cars?! I'm sure i was worse the second time round and passed.

I think they have a pass/fail target to meet as the instructors were talking about it the second time round asking how many the examiner has passed and it was the end of the month.

Yes, I've been known to rip the streets of Romsey up on my Triumph Daytona.
#34
2001 Honda NSR 125R. Only been riding for about 2 months now, but i would love to do my test and get a bigger bike at some stage but a car will probably come first. But no reason why i cant have both some day, maybe a nice big cruiser for driving in the summer

used to love riding bikes.... but had a bad accident about 8 years ago and after about 12 months got back on a bike and just didn't enjoy it anymore so haven't rode one since. :-(

That's the big prob - when you come off it HURTS! Dropped my Yam 200 twin when I was about 18 on a back road about 10 miles from home. You don't realise how heavy they are until you gotta push one ;-)
#37
Yea I had a biggy last year when a car T-boned me. Thanks for the gear i was wearing and lady luck smiling on me i hobbled away with no breaks, the side of the car was a mess though. I was so lucky it didn't come out worse but i got back on the bike as soon as poss, you've got to as the longer you leave it the harder it is

I'm not normally a motorobike person but both my workmates are very into their bikes so they're dragging me down with them. Wouldn't have a clue normally but I actually recognise some of the bikes mentioned here! One of them races bikes, went along to see him racing a Knockhill but sadly he crashed in qualifying which meant the bike wasn't usable for the race. End of the season race at the end of the month which I fancy going to, couple of pics from the last weekend:

Good pics there Jon!

Presume your mate was ok after the crash then?
#40
Remarkably yes, he was just hacked off he couldn't race! This is his bike:

Not a good picture as you can't see the fuel tank which is dented in entirely although you can see the smashed windscreen on it. I couldn't believe he didn't have as much as a scratch on him when his bike had taken such a beating. And my workmates wonder why I prefer driving vehicles with four wheels ;)
