Another retailer has guaranteed delivery by Thursday but the £19 difference and the fact that delivery might arrive for the same day on the same item would be a bit of a kick in the teeth, which do you think we should order?

Pixmania are sloooooooow I remember ordering a item when their website said same day postage if before 12, ordered around 8am and took 4 days to send.

2nd order they cancelled due to security reasons then refused to refund saying I needed to show proof I am who I say ie credit card statements and had to write a letter to say no matter what I wont do a chargeback.

Wow, that sounds kinda bad but I don't know if they'd be different with large products.

I know they're part of the Dixons, Currys and PCworld group and Dixons told me they handle there deliveries, so I don't know if it'll be quicker.....I'm hoping it could arrive for Thursday.

Unless they've changed things recently - although Pixmania are part of the Dixons group - they are based in France. This means you sometimes get products with continental plugs and French language instructions - our camera certainly was. The first camera was faulty and had be to posted back to France and then we had to reclaim the postage costs.

Up to you whether they are worse the hassle......

Think again. They may be owned by the Dixons groups, but they are a French company. You will forgo all your SOGA rights if you buy from them. As a Gooner, I recommend you buy from them wholeheartedly! :w00t::w00t:

Oh damn....it sounds like they're terrible......I guess we should order elsewhere then.....just to make sure.....is Electrical123 any good?

They've stated that we can order a slot for Thursday.

The Mrs bought me something from them for Christmas. It arrived 3 days later using standard p & p which was a nice surprise but there was no packaging whatsoever, they just stuck lables over the original box which was battered by the time it reached us. The item was fine but that was more by good luck than management.

Dunno. Probably ok. Just really mistrust Pixmania.

Sounds like I should avoid Pixmania like the plague......it's a shame Dixons don't pricematch themselves (as in companies in their own group) although they claim to dislike being beaten on price.
