Don't wanna urinate on your fire, but buy a cheap banger. The first year can be 'eventful'

im adamant i want this car, and i wont drive like an idiot. id pay nearly the amount for a smaller fiesta compared to the st so may as well get the car i want. as long as im sensible i should be ok.

You can be sensible but the muppets out in the big world are not! Fully comp insurance i think is wise!

oh i agree theres some muppets! but if it gets bumped it will cost the same to repair as a smaller engined model. i will go fully comp, not taking risks with an st lol

Go for the Focus model instead - now that's a proper ST

Ouch on the insurance btw - I wasn't much older when I got my Focus and my first year was only £480 fully comp (group 18) :)
