Why are drugs frowned upon so much ?

Especially weed. It's proven that it is less harmful than smoking and alcohol ! I don't understand why it is considered so morally bad to take drugs. If it makes you feel good and you harm nobody why does it matter. Surely alcohol is no different ? Obviously there are drugs that can affect others in a negative way, these are a different case though. You may say ' oh but it supports drug dealing and crime', but if they weren't illegal in the first place there would be no problem.

Thats the point, when they dont harm anyone and people can handle them its great. Its all the idiots who neglect their children cos theyd rather get an ounce of weed and sit in a chair blazed all day instead of feeding their kids, or the 16 year olds who o.d on pills or coke and make headlines.

Everything in moderation is great but some people cant do that.

But if they smoke an ounce of weed and neglect kids im sure they don't treat them right anyway. Social services should intervene. Something like a monitor of how much people buy and an age limit like current drugs i.e alcohol, paracetemol, cigarettes....

Holland has legalised cannabis and they seem fine. They just have a weakened version.

Weed was discovered at the wrong time. If alcohol were to be discovered today it would be banned without doubt. But it's other drugs also. Weaker version can be made and if nobody else suffers why does it matter ? Even if they do alcohol affects others - antisocial behaviour. Cigarettes before the ban also

Because winners don't do drugs.

And that's exactly why we should ban fatty foods.

My question with weed is, if we aren't meant to smoke it why does the human body have cannabinoid receptors?

I was pointing out that it's silly to ban things purely because some people become an increased burden on society because they can't consume them in moderation.
#12
Who says it has been proved to be less harmful? Regular cannabis use can cause schizophrenia and hospital wards are full of people suffering from this. It is a bit like the great global warming debate. People believe what they want. Give me a glass of good malt any day. It makes me happy!

where did i say that they should be banned?

Added to that, drug misuse and addiction is responsible for a huge amount of crime in this country as addicts steal to fund their habit
#17
i personally don't smoke but i dont think there's anything wrong with it in moderation. i saw a poster once saying 'god made grass, man made booze. who do u trust?'
i think that alcohol is far more dangerous.x

And the current legislation does nothing to change this:?

Drugs are a reality of almost every culture throughout history. Pretending people won't seek them out is naive to the point of stupidity.

I lol'd

Seriously though... Imo drugs should continue to be frowned upon, it's not something anyone should aspire to. There are way too many people out there who rely on drugs (both illegal and otherwise) and it is ultimately ruining lives.

I wish this country would at least give medical cards for cannabis on health grounds like in some US states, for pain I am prescribed Codeine which the body converts to morphine, I have found that a J will relieve the pain more effectively but doing this would leave me open to being charged as a criminal.

At the suggestions drugs lead to crime to fund it, you never heard of people commiting crime to pay for alcohol?

Depends what you type you have though. Half the time they get illness's is because the dealers put a ton of other stuff in it as well, like bleach.
#25
I used to live next to a weed dealer, the people (mainly tracksuit wearing chavs) that visited the dealer urinated everywhere, got in fights, brought knives, smashed windows, broke in neighbours house, smashed police cars up etc etc. The mother who lived in that house, violently screamed at her kids every day, they never went to school, and ended up stealing from the local shops, graffiti, more car damage etc etc.

So, make weed Class A, or get Tesco to sell it properly.

Full? Doubt it. I think you'll find far more drunken idiots in your local hospital who've drunk themselves into oblivion.

My stance is that both alcohol and drugs are ok in moderation.
I think part of the problem is that people don't know when to stop (with both drugs and alcohol) and that's when you get drunken fights, druggies robbing people, etc..

But with that argument, god made man - who in turn made booze....and alcohol is found naturally anyway (spoiled fruit for example).

Also on that one, "god" made arsenic....I'm not going to starting eating it though...

talkin gof the fatty foods, I think there should be a fatty foods tax...which should be used to lower the price of fruit and veg...m,ake all meals at McDonalds/KFC/whatever £3 or £4 more expensive and use the revenue to lower the price of fruit and veg.

So all of that was because of weed. I think not  If anything weed calms you, they were probably drinking and little shi*s anyway. You can't say well they did this and they smoked weed as well, it must be entirely down to the weed. I could say that I know somebody who had 4 paracetemols once and they have random fits, must have been the overdose

my understanding is that use of cannabis can significantly increase your chances of developing lung and other cancers, over and above the rsik brought on by tobacco. this isn't something that gets mentioned a great deal but apparently it is true.

no offense mate but if you think all that is down to weed thats extremely naive.
#32
Yeah, if they were selling gummy bears the chavs would have got hyper and caused more damage.

WEED? SKUNK? CANNABIS? MARY JANE? WTF? Why is people wasting their £'s on crap?

Hard core druggies use TRAMADOL, and it's free!

BTW I'm a WINNER cos I don't use drugs, just medicines, lol:

Plenty of alcoholics do. And when they use the cash to buy beer the government still get a cut. Thing is though if cannabis were legal would you not have a plant or two of your own:idea:

Special brew don't grow on trees.

But anyway, think back to Afroman, he was gonna do all that stuff.... but he got high:lazy:
