Why are there so many poor mobile phone deals around?

i've been looking at quite a few sites in the last month two and there's ALOT of really poor deals

alot of 18 month contracts

alot of the deals submitted to hotdeals have been cold too. any chance some better ones will be coming along any time soon?

yeah but its expired now

the 12 months free is off. i guess it was a 24/48 hr one which i just missed.

thats probably the best deal out there - with quidco - costs £10. not the greatest phone but it'll have to do!

Have you tried calling the main ones like Voda, O2 etc? I did and even though it's an 18 month contract, they gave me the first 15 months half proce so am only paying £12.50. I will have to pay one month at £25 but can then upgrade and start a new deal. I would suggest giving them a call - I called one day and got an offer and then called back the next day to take it up but they offered me the better deal so worth trying till you get what you want!

Thats great... what do you get per month on that ( with o2 ) and did you recieve a phone ?
