We may have problems in this country, but at least we have most of our priorities the right way around (most of the time).

Michael Moore's next film entitled http://www.uk.imdb.com/title/tt0386032/ Sicko about the state of the American private health care system:

And you thought the NHS was bad!

You think the government will scrap public health care? Wouldn't that be political suicide?

Personally, I love Britain. I love England. It's a wonderful place to live, to go and to be part of. It has beauty, pure beauty from beautiful countryside through to the dregs of the cities. It has class and glamour, every now and then I think to myself how lucky I am to have been born in such a Country. A Country, where I need not worry about getting involved in a civil war when I step out of my door. A Country that has so many sides, more sides to it than a myriagon, each one waiting to be discovered, explored and loved.

Been lucky enough to avoid dealings with scumbags here (touch wood) though not had the same luck abroad!!! Had passports robbed and had stones thrown at the car on a motorway in Australia, had my mobile stolen in Cuba and didn't meet a single friendly person in France!!! For now, I'll stick with England!!

Yeah, on the whole happy here, although you have to admit it is in our nature to have the occasional moan about things! :p

What is so great about Great Britain, the roads are at bursting point, public transport is a joke, housing prices are through the roof, almost everything is more expensive than most of the rest of Europe and it is always bloody raining.. :giggle:

I find nothing wrong with Parisians, I think they just have a thing against the English (of which I'm not) much in the same way the english have about the French or Germans. I also noticed that if you make an effort to speak French they really open up, even if your French is fairly basic as is mine.

Tbh I think we should count yourselves lucky to be in a country where you don't have to worry about your shanty town house being ripped up without any warning - look at beijing at the moment. Its an absolute disgrace that they are allowed to do this just to make their city look nice and pretty for the Olypmics. Just one case of thousands around the world.
You wanna live in Zimbabwe right now? Didn't think so.
