Why has my deal been removed?

Getting a tad fed up of this, I'm trying to alert people to the fact the top of the range lifetime secateurs have over 30% off, first of all the website I used isn't verified by HUKDeals so andywedge removed the deal, when I find a competitor has price matched, (one that has been posted on here before) I repost the deal. As expected vast majority of folk will vote cold on spending £40+ pounds on a set of secateurs, but when you consider that they sell for £60+ on the net and £70+ in garden centres it is actually a bargain. £41.99 delivered compared to the usual £65 + delivery. So my deal starts getting cold votes, I ask why when there is over 30% off, and a member provides a link to one of the cheapest felco secateurs in the range.. (these were their flagship model) so I explain Felco produce lots of diff ones with diff numbers and diff prices and attributes, I refresh my deal to find it's been marked as spam!!! Sorry I haven't put the latest pound shop deal or usual dvd/blu-ray saving of a couple of pence, but on this deal you actually saved like 20 quid..(cheapest I could find on google was like £52 quid) Useless to anyone other than the gardeners here, but when ill informed mods decide to start making deals spam i worry for the existance of this site. You try to help other folk out, and have it thrown in your face consistantly.. I've enjoyed being here for near 3 years, it's weird that when you try to offer up a deal, as a way of paying back the money you've saved it's a real trial.. it's ok I'll still look here, just won't post any other deals.

if the deal was written like that it was probably spammed as no one could read it, not heard of paragraphs?

If it isn't a repost then report it and ask the mods to bring it back

Perfectly capable of paragraph's thanks, I wasn't aware I was addressing the grammar police!!! :P Just a bit peeved, for example if somebody posted 30% off an aston martin I wouldn't vote either way, (I'm not really into spending 50k+ on a car!) but heck it's a great deal to the aston martin lovers.. as regards to the noob comment, sorry I'm not running with your clique, actually no I'm not sorry at all, I'm here to help people find a good deal, isn't that we are all here for? Nevermind, maybe you can tell me that anything over 3 sentences should be a new paragraph, or perhaps you prefer me to use text speak?

Edit: The deal wasn't written like this was 3 sentences, and btw, what is it with people not expecting paragraphs to pertain to one subject? Why must they be like 6 sentences max? (not being arsey, just wondering!)

Hi madwelsh

I presume you mean this deal ?

I removed it whilst it was verified. This is common practice for moderators to do this in the interest of the HUKD community.

As you are aware - I removed the deal that you posted last night as the company (and the various other companies that they market themselves as) are not suitable for HUKD.

As you posted the same product again (albeit for a different company) I felt it was necessary to look closely at this deal. As it is, the company appear to be legitimate and after checking I brought the deal back (several minutes before you posted this thread).

It is always in the members best interests that companies and deals are verified by moderators and unfortunately this means that sometimes deals are removed permanently or in the case of your recent post temporarily.

just an observation, but would it not be better to lock the deal, rather then moving the whole post with a foot note to say why it had been locked, then it would save having threads like this one.

It's ok, I don't particularly care if the deal does go freezing, if someone else has benefitted then that is ok.. Myself? I'll receive my top of the range secateurs for 33% less, tomorrow if the tracking is right. I just wanted to try and give something back to this place, I always take advantage of the deals here and I felt it only right to take the time to try and put a little back in..

(space for those who like it!!)

Anyways, lesson learned, shan't post anything else on here ever again.

I think removing is far better - imagine if it turned out to be a scam website that fleeced people of their hard earned cash, cloned their credit card details, sold on their contact details? If it was still visible on the forum some people would still click 'Go To Deal' and 'buy' the product.

This is of course, a worse case scenario - but websites like this are created daily.

So, by it being removed then noone can click 'Go To Deal'.

Instead of getting suicidal op, perhaps you should do some shopping around before slating the rest of us for not appreciating your massive bargain. These, and the felco 8 & 9 are available for around the same price on several sites including a little known site called amazon. I don't know how this site will cope without your annual deal...

Then keep the suggestion that richp put forward except, disable the 'Go To Deal' link? or make it link to a page stating that this is potentially unsafe and is being reviewed

Do i have to think of everything? :)

yes, perhaps you missed this, the price has come down and everyone else has followed suit, no doubt it will go back up in future, I thought this site was to advertise to others when we found a good deal.. And perhaps, just perhaps, it's nice to have a deal that isn't the usual games/dvd/blu that's 5p cheaper this month..
Honestly, such resentment for posting a deal, from people who should know better, and because they know sod all about the product try to 'bully' because they have x amount of deals etc.. really, it is pathetic.

true enough, but then I couldn't give 5 secs of my time over phone deals or games.. horses for courses no..? imagine you found a deal for an iphone that was 30% off? (bit of a rubbish comparison cos phone tech moves so fast) you'd want to post no? So many want to jump on any post, all I wanted to do, was alert people interested that the deal of 30% off, on a dream purchase was there, regardless of site. Hopefully I have managed that, and folk have saved some money. Seriously, for a gardener this is like the rolls-royce of garden implements, if even one person has bought their pride and joy due to me, job done :D

Ok guys- all sorted now so leave op alone or you will have me to deal with. Mwahahahaha! ;)

Don't take it to heart mate, us gardeners seem to get a hard deal every time. I keep posting deals for seeds but for some reason they seem to just end up getting buried.

I posted a deal for bulbs and got slated because they weren't 'energy saving'
