Why no insurance/tax? With the price of insurance most people would drive off if they can get away with it so they don't have to pay more at renewal.

+1 this....though I would probably offer to pay to get it fixed out of insurance, I would in fact beg, would cost £1000+ extra a year if I was to have a claim.

the 1st weekend I had my car some ****** broke into it....I couldnt even put a claim through for that (cos of how much it would have cost me in the long run) so had to sort it out and pay for it myself :(

Well this is it. The authorities want everybody to believe that its the uninsured that cause all the problems. If insurance companies didn't charge so much and made it more affordable, maybe there would be less uninsured drivers out there. Wild thought but.....

Yes, it is a real downer Pabs and I think it's just the way that a lot of people behave. They wouldn't even think about owning up to smacking their door handle into the side of your car and leaving a dint or backing into you and trashing things a bit. There was someone on here the other day who had saved for 6 years for his car and someone keyed it. I don't think that it's anything to do with insurance just not caring and getting away with stuff.

That's it. Total lack of respect for other people. Such is the society we live in. Hell, even my wife reversed into my car a while ago. Did she pay to fix it? Did she ****

NCB???
Plenty of form filling and then chunks of money to give to those who did not much more than give you the forms.
Woops; must go to bed. :-D

Hope the car fixes up fine Pabs.

What would have happened to you if he stayed?

This is why I drive a cheaper car than I can afford. The nicer your car, the more attached you get to it, and the more upsetting it is to see it damaged. Time for a downgrade.
