Why do they keep saying that Argentina are the only team to have qualified for the 2nd stage?

Unless I'm wrong then if Greece smash Argentina and South Korea smash Nigeria then Argentina would go out on goal difference? Or is it done on individual matches and not goal difference?

Goal difference, if it wasn't then the teams would defender pass spam for 90 minutes after scoring.

Argentina have won two games... from 3..

6 Points.

Before goal difference comes into it I think they take into account the result between the teams in question.

Usually, 2 wins and a draw can get you through from the groups.

They are presuming though as I thought it was also down to GD.

Top 3 would all have 6 points each. So if the remaining games are strong victories then Argentina would be out??

I think realistically they're through.

Maybe not mathmatically?!

Realistically quite a few teams should get through.

Just don't get why they keep saying they're through when they're not!

I find it a bit mad, that if every game in a group finished 1-1 (and there were a lot of them in the first round of matches), then effectively it would come down to a raffle to see who goes through.

If it came to that or penalties England have more skill at winning raffles :whistling:

You are an idiot. You decided to take half of my post, and quote it out of context, well done. You offered no input to the thread whatsoever, seeming only to post in order to provoke a reaction.

Look, I shall do the same here:

What a strange thing to say.

P.S. Your syntax and use of smileys deeply offends me.

You don't even need all of them to finish 1-1. They were talking the other night about this possibility in England's group, only 2 games to go, could happen!

Looks like they got it right on the news last night, they said that Holland are the first team to qualify, although I've not checked that they actually have. Maybe they read my thread and realised Argentina haven't qualified yet!
