Probably a mixture of all those things, tbh. And sometimes simply because because I've found something I think is a gret deal!

Sweet, but a little naive not to recognise the range of instrinsic and extrinsic motivations involved in any action. As much as we would like to believe it, nothing is pure, although there are degrees of purity of course.

I'd say i post for rep and to be help truthfully. I'd probably never get popular. You've probably never heard of me before lol! But before posting something good, i try to make sure i bought one for myself. But sometimes i can't wait so i post straight away!

just that there isn't such a thing as a pure reason for doing something. It's always more complex because we are motivated by a range of different things. The OP recognises that I think when he lists some of the possible things that might motivate us. There are other more personal motivations too; for example, we might be doing something to get some kind of 'credit' because we aren't getting it in other areas of our lives. Like I said though, it's complex.

Without help in the world we would be .................... HELPLESS!

Because i'm a cheapskate - and when I am after something i HAVE to try and find it at the cheapest price possible, otherwise it guts me for weeks after . If I think someone else may benefit from it i'm post it as a deal mainly because I spent about 18 months 'lurking' on this site before finally joining and bagged so many 'hot deals' that i started to feel a bit guilty :whistling:. Plus it is a good feeling to know that you might have helped someone else out - something that applies in the 'real' world too :).

I post deals because:

It's a way of being able to give something back for the benefits I have received from others posting deals.
I like helping people.
It makes me feel good when I know I have helped someone.
I'm board.
I like the discussion it creates.
I like the buzz you get from spotting a good deal.

Ok, that's 60p for board instead of bored? How would you like to pay?

If I take out the question mark at the end of your first sentence and replace it with a full stop, can we can call it quits? :p

I don't know whether to feel extremely honoured, or worried in case 'doff my cap' has become some kind of modern inuendo that I don't know about. ;-)

Nope, nothing in the Urban Dictionary, so I guess I'm extremely honoured. Why thank you kind sir. :)
