Why do you post deals......

Someone asked me recently why I posted deals/freebies that I found, and didnt just use them myself. They said that they would use the site to get deals, but not actually post any themselves because it was a waste of their time (Seems reeeeeeeeeeeally selfish to me)

I post any deals/freebies I find for two reasons, firstly I like to be able to help people, and also because this site has helped me save so much I want to contribute to it and ensure that it remains alive and kicking.

So why does everyone else post deals or freebies?

to be honest ive tried a few times to post them and its far too complicated for me ...on the forum i was on before u just make a thread and post the link..ive read thru the stickys about posting them and im far from stupid but im totaly lost on this 1 ...infact ive just seen a tea tree oil free sample that was emailed to me via a newsletter and im still lost on how im spose2post it

Too many people are self absorbed not realising a like minded community can be a very powerful force when they all contribute and pool their resources, society is very wasteful and inefficient because of this.

But, my reason for posting is selfish..... I post because I want people to reciprocate by posting other deals which I might find good value :)

Same sorts of reasons - if I think someone else might use a discount / want a cheap item.

I don't go out of my way to look for deals to post, but if I come across something, I usually will.

It's pretty simple once you've done a few, if you screw up it doesn't matter, a mod can fix or you can edit what you can, so long as you eventually get the hang of it and contribute, all the better

My aunty is the opposite of most people, she bought something in Argos and then told everyone she got it in debenhams because it was more expensive there! Most people brag about the good deal they got!

Yeah, I do the same. Like I see someone paying £16 for a DVD in Virgin (or similar) and I think "You fool! You could get that for a tenner online!" It sort of bothers me that people will still pay that much for something. The only acceptable excuses are that they HAVE to get it that day, or they don't use a computer. :giggle:

Most of my conversations at the moment start with "It says on Hot Uk Deals that....." or "You can get this much knocked off and cashback with quidco..."

I post a deal because I have saved a lot of money using this site and also had some fantastic freebies so I think if I spot something I have to share it with you all :)

a lot of you sound just like me! One thing I hate to see is someone walking around HMV/Virgin carrying boxsets that they are paying sooooooo much money for!! Drives me mad lol I've dropped a few hints and people either take it or leave it. Their choice I guess lol.

I havent used this site for long, but seeing people still shopping in the big shops in the town, paying ridiculous prices just confuzes the hell out of me.

I got into online buying as soon as it started. The prices are just crazy compared to normal retailers.

My TV i got last summer just before the world cup.
Paid £715 for a 32" Digital HD Samsung. Was £1050 cheapest in any of the high street shops.
Know a few people that paid around the £1000 mark, and people that still are.
All i got was "yea but i dont like buying online" or " theres no-one to shout at if it breaks" or "i like to see what i am buying first".
Basically i tore people's comments to shreds and explained they got ripped off so that they go out and think about things for a change.
If ya want to see it first, go to Comet and see it, then order online.
They all come from the same warehouses anyway.
You still have rights when buying online, and if you pay via credit card, with a months insurance, you get the bank to shout at them.

And i dont get a chance to post, since the people on this forum are too damn quick at finding them all lol.
