its the resolution of the screen you have just bought its higher than the resolution the website it set to be displayed at.

nothing you can do apart from lower your graphics resolution on the screen but no point in doing that.

Because the screen resolution is bigger.

You need to change your reolution settings.
Mine's 1440 x 900
#14
Might be your HUKD view settings. Try swapping between text and full details and see if this gives you what you are used to
#15
aye the poster above said its just your resolution. it can be easy but back to how you had it before. although i don't have vista so not sure if its the same as xp. under control panal goto display and goto settings and slide the wee thing down to a lower resolution. IE, the greater the pixels the smaller the writing(bigger work area). So 800x600 or something for you.

Yep ;-) Started typing before other posts & when I refreshed I realised Mrs.Z was referring to screen display rather than forum display.

Have you fixed it.
I had problems with screen size a few days ago. Using Internet Explorer as my browser. I was changing lots of things but think the fix was... from the explorer menu > View> Zoom > ...

I have 17.5 screen....mine sometimes goes like this when I try scroll down and it does some kinda zoom thing. It usually goes back to normal when I reopen a page, but I guess it might be on some kinda options under zoom maybe? Mine does it when I use the scroll thingie to the right of my sensor pad (mouse thingie)
sorry about all the technical terms...:?

I am looking for something like that in Firefox, haven't found it yet
I was playing with the resolution but when I make the resolution lower, the writing gets larger but it's a bit fuzzy

Just managed to recreate your screen using Internet Explorer after changing the zoom settings so may well be this. I don't use firefox but maybe someone who does can advise you where to look for the zoom settings
Or could try CTRL + / CTRL - (Thats the shortcut when using IE - Might be similar for Firefox)

In Firefox Click "View" Then highlight "Zoom" and Click "Reset"

Or you can zoom in/out etc

It's because you chose a very high resolution screen for your laptop - from the screenshot I'd say 1920x1200. If you wanted large text then it was a bad choice.

Zooming will help in firefox, but other programs will also have small text and they won't have a zoom option. Your best solution might be to change the screen to a lower resolution in window's display settings - 1440x900 or 1280x800 are more normal choices. It won't look as good as a screen that is that sort of resolution to start with but it's about the best you can do without replacing the screen if you can't live with the text size on a 17" 1920x1200 display.

1920x1200 is more normally found on 24" screens where it's got room to spread out.
